CA Gorvernor Newsome Bans All THC Products

Derived from hemp. He claims it’s because unregulated product is sold in retail shops to children.

Seems a little extreme. There are plenty of adults who prefer the low thc and other cannabinoids derived from hemp. Why not slap age restrictions instead?

just seems weird that a state with legal cannabis would put a prohibition on hemp derived thc

Meh, seems like a nothing burger but they sell hemp shit here in gas stations and unlike shit like yellow jackets and kratom and other gas station drugs, I think anyone can buy it....so age restriction would be smarter, but unlike you, I don't know a soul who buys it so just by my personal experience, it just feels like he wanted to do something

...like anything

I know people who swear by it they say weed makes them paranoid.  It just seems weird to outright ban it in a legal state.   Why not let dispos sell it though?  I agree on the age restriction but I just don’t like straight up prohibition.

Yeah, not sure what that is either.  Might be an attempt to bolster the stronger legal product sales since those have continued to flag.

I think it’s more that than anything else.  Regulated dispos must be feeling a hit to their bottom line since hemp and cbd products exploded. One solution could be to have legal dispos sell it. A lot of people also say dispos are too expensive but idk about that. Never been to a dispensary in CA before.

Hemp has always been problematic specifically because of low THC production.  It’s never been particularly dangerous, but it was notably used by overzealous prohibition states as a cudgel in the early days of recreational legalization.  I’m not suggesting it’s an excuse as much as a complication that factors in:  if, for instance, a semi loaded with hemp is stopped in say Idaho on its way to California, it becomes infinitely more difficult to charge the driver with drug trafficking when the hemp can’t theoretically be used to produce a THC product at the industrial level.  In reality, it may just be a matter of Newsome sweeping a complicated issue under the rug.

I think as already stated its a matter of hitting the cheaper thing that almost anyone could get a hold of in favor of forcing people to deal with whatever hoops they have to jump through in order to get the 'legal' and more expensive stuff.

Sort of like how hemp, despite being super easy to grow and turn into something like paper, was fought against and made illegal for the longest time because making paper from trees was making certain people rich and they didn't want that money to slow down.

I don't know about their flower because my cousin gave me some weed at the funeral but their gummies were cheap AF. Like 20 100 mg worms for $10

Here we get 10 10mg gummies for twice that. Sometimes med dispos have good sales. Rec can’t do that yet.

flying monkey products, are pretty good in a pinch

Is that a hemp derived THC product?

I get a lot of ads for a place called “Mood” but I never bit the bait cuz cannabis derived thc is legal here.  They sent me an email saying “sorry California but we’re illegal for you guys now”
