Jman Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Just…Max. I think the fear was that the HBO name made people think of adult programming, but…Max? 3 Quote

PokeNirvash Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 I never really had that much attachment to the HBO name, when watching what little I have seen on Max. Quote
Seight Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 They spent $25M to make this decision btw [citation needed] 1 Quote

HBO was a globally known brand. You don't just toss that in the shitcan. The people running these corporations are morons. Think Disney is any better? "Disney Lost $123 Billion in Market Value in 2022 as Shares Drop 44 Percent — Worst Year Since 1974" Disney's response to this? More Rey Skywalker movies. 1 Quote
rpgamer Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 "HBO" also carries a connotation of "premium content" from a brand/channel that was largely/historically known as a luxury extra content channel purchase outside of normal cable subscriptions. In other words: 3 Quote
Daos Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 Plus HBO wasn't the one associated with softcore back in the day, that was Cinemax and Showtime. These companies are run by chimps. Quote

CountFrylock Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 how is it that the general public is so unfamiliar with Warner Brothers Properties that they can't even use WB in the streaming service name? Quote

Give it a mascot, Steve the Stellar Starfish, he loves watching all of Disney’s wonderful properties in a pineapple under the sea. Disney has the power to do something like that. WB, not so much. And that makes this come off as yet another thoughtless rebrand. Quote

WB For whatever reason doesn't like doing that....not even with DC Comics related products the difference between the two is that you know what's a disney product but nobody knows wtf A WB Product is Quote
