Kudasai Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Not the news I wanted to hear on a day like this
Sir Teddybar Gut Fullung Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Damn it! Not the Professor!
Naraku4656 Posted January 10, 2020 Author Posted January 10, 2020 dude i wanted to see rush years ago when they came here and i couldn't afford it. seeing Peart perform would have been a dream come true. what a fucking legend
Kudasai Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 (edited) This one really cuts me deep, Rush is my all time favorite band, Neil Peart is my all time favorite drummer and lyricist. Their music has gotten me through some rough times in my life. Collecting every studio/live albums they've released was a lot of fun. My one regret was not going to see Rush live when I had the chance to. While I am sad to hear of his passing I'm very grateful for the positive impact his music has had in my life. Naraku4656 Posted January 10, 2020 Author Posted January 10, 2020 looks like i'm including Rush in this weekend's work playlist. i actually screamed "WHAT" at my monitor when i saw it on facebook. i've loved them since at least high school, maybe before then.
Sir Teddybar Gut Fullung Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 (edited) I finally got to see them, and it was on their final tour. They are my all-time favorite band as well. I wish y'all could have been able to see them live. They were the greatest live act I've ever seen. It's not even close. Rest in Peace, sir. Thank you for the awesome music. You will be deeply missed. Edited January 10, 2020 by Sir Teddybar Gut Fullung

stilgar Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 I only say who if I have no idea who is being talked about or if I think they are shit. 1
Ric Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 I was more of a casual fan but enjoyed their music. This made me wonder if anyone made any 16-bit renditions of Rush music and found this. 1
MasqueradeOverture Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 (edited) Never got a chance to see them live. This is a punch to the pancreas. Someone please learn The Drum Solo Of Life: Edited January 11, 2020 by MasqueradeOverture 5
Sir Teddybar Gut Fullung Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Here's a very touching tribute using the very last song on the very last album the band ever released. "The Garden", from 2012's Clockwork Angels.
Sir Teddybar Gut Fullung Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 And now, "Xanadu", from 1977's A Farewell to Kings.

Sir Teddybar Gut Fullung Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 I figured this song would be most appropriate. "Afterimage" from 1984's Grace Under Pressure.
Sir Teddybar Gut Fullung Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 One of my favorite songs of all-time. And it's about the first launch of the Space Shuttle! How awesome is that! From 1982's Signals, I present to you..."Countdown"!
