I feel like New England gets less snow than the PA/NJ/NY area but they make a bigger deal out of it BeCaUsE nOrTh. Like, the year Boston had so much snow they were dumping it into the harbor... Philly had the same thing going on but they have a couple vast areas of land down in Delco to dump it.

The better story to blow up is dumping it into the harbor, so... naturally.

i have been up here 3 years now (and have visited a few times prior) and... winter isn’t all that bad, aside from shorter and colder days.

Having spoken to the local New Englanders I've gathered that the winters have been pretty mild compared to the last few years.  I will say that I've been up to my waist in PA, NH and upstate NY snow but I have not in CT or NJ (not since a kid anyway).  Michigan is a whole other story of course...that was above my head in a lot of spots.

Winters have been mild the past couple years for sure, but numerous times I’ve seen 4 feet or more in PA... Jersey has that ocean snow BS, CT is ... well it’s Connecticut.

Ugh, snow on it's own is fine, rain on it's own is fine, but now it just went from snow to rain.  That's when the slush and black ice come and an idiot smashes into the transformer at the bottom of the hill cutting power to my street for a day and a half 😕

Funny you say that, because my gf's dad's gf put these weird ass candle holder things in the fireplace with these led flame-like bulbs... we don't use the living room much so they're still in there... *cringe*

Ah yes those $20 fake candles they sell everywhere

I do not  blame you

Bad Axe, Marquette?  Was there a Hobby Lobby there?

Yes, lake effect is a crazy phenomenon.

The chimney is still good... the woodstove down in the basement needs work so I think I'm gonna cap that off and ditch the stove. Possibly will use the fireplace, definitely installing a gas fired wall mounted heater where the wood stove was.

Why not install a wood pellet stove instead?

We're supposed to get a little dusting tomorrow. The storm's probably gonna be bad, it was like 65 degrees this morning. It's usually in the 40s

Yup, today's gonna be like 65 day here but tomorrow is gonna go from like 60 in the morning to 30 that night and the all day rain supposed to turn to snow tomorrow night, I am not looking forward to that shit.
