T-Mobile sucks ass

So how is everyone?

Just wanted to say that T-Mobile as a service is ass. The service is very random in my town, in the open parking lot at my workplace I get 1-2 bars, but if I go over into the building, which is made of cement, steel, etc. I have 4+ bars. That being how spotty the coverage seems to be.

For my phone the only reason I keep the service is because many years ago I worked at a place that I got a big discount through T-mobile with, and even though I haven't worked there in 5 years the discount is still applied to my account, so I'm only paying $40 a month for unlimited everything, though it's still the case where video streams are limited to 480p. On a phone 480p isn't a problem, but for my home internet I'm operating through a provider that runs off of cell towers, my plan running through T-mobile's network, I get truly unlimited data as advertised by my provider (I've tested this by downloading over 200gb worth of data), but because of the way T-mobile handles their service the video quality cap is affecting me, I could leave a 1080p video set to play, and then come back 15 minutes later and only 3 minutes of the video have passed. When I use my VPN though, youtube videos load immediately, even in 4k. I've even used other devices in my house, such as a smart tv, where HD videos load like complete ass.

So yeah, it's really annoying. I can get around it on my pc with a VPN, but I can't run that on the other devices in the house. My only option really is to change my plan with my ISP to one that operates through AT&T's service, I know from experience that one won't throttle anything, but I'd be paying close to $150 a month. (I live on private land with no neighbors, it always being a case where the only tv we can get is satellite, and the only internet we can get is wireless, so I've always been fucked over on internet options and prices)

I like that my phone service is cheap. Even without my jobs work discount applied I'd only be spending $55ish a month for what I have, compared to the $70-80 a month I'd be paying for a similar plan through AT&T and Verizon

Yep it's been the cheapest for forever, i switched from them to Simple Mobile (still uses T Mobile's everything just no physical stores or anything) bc they had a cheaper unltd deal but now T Mobile has finally matched that w the $55 plan u mentioned, so I'll probably go back to reg T Mobile once it's time to get a new phone.

I worked for tmobile for 7 years. No carrier has 100% coverage..you cant expect that youll get 4 bars everywhere. They have signal boosters you can rent for free and they are always expanding their coverage. I use wifi when im at home..but i used to get 1 bar for years...now I get four.

I know that, but considering how I always get 1-2 bars in a parking lot that's in the middle of my town, but whenever I'm in a two story building which is made of cement and steel and so on, and get better signal throughout most of the building than I do in a parking lot with no obstructions...

Is poor..cant afford more than $55 for cell...complains about coverage when they are only paying $55 for cell

LOL

People

Ah, now I know you're just another asshole.

As for the comment, it's fucking retarded considering T-Mobile is the 3rd or 4th largest carrier in the US, and however much you're spending with a carrier doesn't change the coverage you get from that carrier. The more I read your comment the more annoyed I get.

I pay $35 for boost mobile and I was one of the only people with service during this NG field exercise somehow. 🙄

Because different carriers own the land to put up a tower...no one has service 100%. If yours worked there most likely your carrier bought the land first and were able to put their tower up first

Had AT&T and dropped it 3 mos ago.  Now using Google Fi.  I also had the discount with AT&T because of work (23%), but even with that discount I was paying nearly $70/mo.

Without any discount, I just paid slightly less than $20. for last month with Fi.

I worked in the cellphone business for years. I know what im talking abt. If you want the biggest guarantee that everywhere u go is LIKELY to have coverage...dole out the money and switch to vzw...otherwise u are a fool to complain.

My town is actually really good as far as options goes, for the most part we get the same amount of coverage with all of the big players, AT&T Verizon T-Mobile and Sprint. I refuse to gives Sprints service a go. I had them back in 2010-2011 and I had garbage coverage with them at my house, even though I quite literally live in an area where I have three Sprint towers within 3 miles of my house, there even being one 1.1 miles from my house, but I still got garbage service when I tried giving Sprint another chance back in 2014.

No shit sherlock, but we've been through this before. T-Mobile sucks. Plus Boostmobile is pretty much a subsidiary of sprint that is way cheaper and lets you pay as you go...more perks etc.

At&T blows here in this small town that I live, and the rep that was feeding us and letting us play with air soft guns admitted that they wont step on the company I get fiber from so that's why it's ass in my town, but according to my NG mates AT&t mobile, and internet is bomb in the neighboring city where we drill.

The post I made just about coverage being good in my city for cell phone providers is true, but the best one in my city is AT&T, Verizon performs lower than T-mobile in it.

For my home internet means from 2015 to 2016 or 2017 I was using a grandfathered unlimited data account from Verizon, and my speeds were at best 40mbps, but was prone to lag and drops in speed so very frequently. I then switched to a grandfathered account that ran through AT&T, which I used up until this month, and it was on average so much faster than verizon, and aside from cases where I was downloading something in the background, I never had any lag or drops in quality.

It's just that recently I switched to an actual wireless provider and not just grandfathered accounts, this one still operates through cell networks. I went with T-Mobile through them cause it was much cheaper, and it's very good speeds and all, no data caps or throttling (I downloaded WoW just as a test since it's free, the download size being 60gb, and it didn't slow down at all) but when it comes to video services like youtube and twitch it runs like complete ass without a VPN, so my only real choice is to switch to the AT&T plan my provider offers, which should solve my problem, but it means I'm paying close to $150 a month

My town is a population between 30k - 40k, and AT&T mobile is the best one.

When it comes to internet / cable providers in my town, we're locked down to Charter for cable (and internet), and AT&T for phone (and their internet). Charter used to be ass in my city, back when they started offering 100mbps, most were still getting only 20-50 at best for well over a year. In the past year they went up to 200mbps, but my buddy is just now getting the previous advertised speeds of 100mbps. 100 by all means is good, but it's never lived up to their advertised speed.

AT&T's internet used to be complete ass, I don't know how much it's improved over the last few years, my buddy switching from it to Charter. One thing I heard earlier this year is apparently because of how bad the AT&T wires are in my city, AT&T was in talks with the city about replacing it all with fiber.

Same man.. That's what an affiliated direc tv rep told me about AT&t here when he came to my house.. but I had to find out the hard way almost that at&t is shotthy as fuck and I wouldn't have been able to even pull a meg in connection speed with them.. The tech told me to my face  it'd suck so he didn't do it lol. :D

When I was switching from verizon and trying to find more affordable service I called T-Mobile and was told the same thing over the phone by a sales rep, that they would suck ass, and I would be without service in a wide ass area around where I live. 🙃

Plus I was also getting shotty coverage with T-Mobile when I was with them on active duty in another area half way across the states.. That's the only reason I switched to Verizon.. They were straight up just trying to bank off their customers when I switched though.. That's all I'm going to say.

Do not listen to this.. She was just paid by T-Mobile and if I ended up with her on the line I would've probably been sold coverage I wouldn't get.. I admired the lady I talked to honesty, and she had to pretty much say they blow statewide, because I called them out over the phone for being limited as fuck in coverage areas compared to basically all their competition.

pretty much all cell phone service is garbage. you want good cell service and are ok with giving your money to the literal devil? you want Verizon. i've tried everyone else, and unless you're in a really specific situation i've never had a problem getting service with them. everyone else i've had problems with
