Well, tonight's SAO episode was extremely disturbing.  And there wasn't even any rape involved!  Be careful what you ask for, people!  (Yes I know this was all written before Reki promised to not use rape anymore.)

I hope nothing on Toonami gets that dark tonight.

Well.  The episode discussion threads are in jeopardy, more upcoming streaming services are gonna force people away from the block, and we lose an hour tonight. What else could go wrong?

that intro felt like a social commentary on the fact that fictional villains typically represent the things "mainstream society" views as undesirable rather than representing any actual evil ideals

for example how most male villains are portrayed as gay male stereotypes

To their credit, they eventually realized their movies were starting to become the same thing but with different set designs.  So they tried to change things up, such as having James Woods play Hades.
