Doom Metal Alchemist Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 ....except Meowth. Change my mind.
Lasty Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Mewtwo seems pretty... the opposite of any variety of disabled.

That's a fine theory of how Pokemon got their names, but then why are there no animals known as "bark" "meow" "chirp" "roar", "oink", "cluck" "gobble", etc.?

Pretty sure there are no regular animals in the world of Pokémon. 1

Except on nights where I come home from work early in the morning, I pretty much always fall sleep with AS on, been like this for over 15 years. There was a while in college where Pokemon would always be on when I'd wake up, so that's how I was exposed to it.
André Toulon Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Pokemon are essentially the animals of that universe....The fact that they use actual words make them much smarter than Timmy. At least at the surface...Now to debunk that theory. to answer your question about oink, meow, etc.....They all have a noise that is associated with their kind...Those noises are not indicative of the names.... It can even be argued that only Ash actually hears them audibly say their names because that kid is obviously unhinged and we hear it because that's what he hears..... Pokemon actually sound like this

Chapinator_X Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 I elect to believe they all chirp in Gameboy era chiptune to avoid the unfortunate implication of dogfighting with autistic animals. 1

Idk why but this reminds me of a toy I had that made realistic animal sounds, all realistic except for the pig...even the tiger was an actual recording, but the pig was just some guy saying "oink". Despite that guy's efforts I'm able to do a pretty convincing interpretation of a sow. *looks thoughtful* 1
