Also if you were easily clearing 80 everyone would know that the defense contractor guess is correct

I don't work for a defense contractor, but I also don't make 80 either. That's the only comment I'll make about my income.

i bet your boss, if s/he actually exists, is clearing 80k.

Dont you claim to not make a cent off your bar? Idr the logic but you basically said you break even on it recently. Why would the owner of the bar i work at be doing so much better than you?

Nobody who works there makes anything remotely close to 80 so the owner is the only person who i assumed you possibly could have been referring to. The kitchen manager makes under 30. I dont know what you mean.

Lol, your perception is quite skewed. 40k is a lot (maybe not in Cali) but it's like $20/hr fulltime, anyone could live a very comfortable life on that in most cities. I dont remember where you work but...I doubt you come close to 40k. Min wage there is still only like $12 right?

Almost nobody in this country clears 80k a year, that's like top 10% of income earners. Idk what naraku was making but he probably wasnt sniffing 80k

Naraku works in a similar field to me. Making well over $40k a year in our industry is pretty common unless you're bad at your job.

Yeah i cant interpret this so I will just say - if it essentially says that you earn more than $80k hence your specific wording that you "dont make $80k" - thats just lying, if you make more than $1 a yr then it's a lie to say you "dont make $1 a year"

If you make less than 80k then disregard.

Too many questions. I'll just say I make around 35k a year.

Like I said, $40k is middle class, not wealthy. Middle class doesn't mean living below the poverty line. But I didn't think you meant being middle class is living extravagantly, maybe I was wrong.

I think the California state minimum wage is still $11.50 (maybe one of our fellow Californians can corroborate that as right or wrong), but the local minimum wage was raised to $12.50 I think this past January or something. But I make more than minimum wage, and work 40 hours a week, and get a lot of overtime and double time. Just because you think working 40 hours a week is unthinkable, doesn't mean everyone does (that was funny the post to benji above where you seemed incredulous that he must work at least 40 hours a week).

Entry level programmers fresh out of college make an average of about 60k here. Naraku is in cyber security if I remember correctly, and he's well out of college and has been in his field for a while.

My dad worked in sales his whole life, and not as a manager, and he still cleared $150k for a good portion of his career. In retirement he makes an average of about 70k, including his investments. And no, we don't live in a mansion though you'd probably think this house is a mansion.

He is so butthurt over giving up on life so early....I do love his cognitive dissonance that somehow having a group of poor, trash individuals to hang out with as he sluggishly rolls into his 30s is somehow the real win that you've in lieu disregarded to....I dunno....Not live in a nigh condemned mansion.

I know it's super tacky but I'm really curious to know how much an IT professional makes in his area.

I've never heard of anyone making less than 40 in the US except for maaaaaybe very early entry level

More than he thinks I'll bet....I mean I'm not sure where he's getting these numbers but hell, Truck drivers, sales reps, mechanics, and RNs all make upwards of 40 a year.  I'm assuming he means unskilled workers but he doesn't know it....He just thinks everyone is living on 20k or less.

But we all must agree on one thing that's common to every job.

Ill be honest. I only really looked at the "broth" part and thought the packaging around it was cool. EITHER WAY look good. There's a Korean supermarket by me. Haven't tried their ramen but if you've never had Korean fried food or their other stuff. Oh my God you need to try it

I had Korean bbq a few weeks ago in Kansas. Not sure how "authentic" that is but it was damned good.
