Mix
You're at the therapists office when, well into the middle of your session, the phone rings on his desk which goes immediately to voicemail and you hear, "..Dr. Everett, it's me, Peter. Listen, I talked to Dina and there's just no way we...." He frantically lunges for the phone before you could hear the rest of it. What do you assume was about to be said based on the little you heard?

I don't remember this episode, but damn I love that line, "do you ever just get down on your knees and thank god that you know me and have access to my dementia"

Like he's in love with his collection of like 150 cars. It makes doing the show kind of awkward.
Cau
Idk man, this scenario assumes too many wild things about me for to be able to immerse myself in. Like that I'd actually seek help for my mental illness. 1

I didn't know people have a problem with it....I love that aspect of the show and I'm not what you would characterize as a car guy... and, from my perspective, the cars are like a late night talk show side kick....you love Andy Richter, but you don't even remember him half the time, where as you can quote whole anecdotes and bits the guests of the show would bring up

GunStarHero
I have nothing to add to this thread. But you reminded me that I once had a therapist that was, like, stupid attractive. She was so gorgeous, my guy. Please be proud of me for being in her presence.

Some ppl talk/write about how out of touch, control freak, narcissistic he is, but if they talk about the cars, they don't call it unhealthy or extreme. They just cover it as part of his obscene wealth/success. Which it is... I just heard that his obsession is extreme and at least some guests have felt like they're an excuse for him to have a show about his cars rather than a show about comedians. I'm not saying it makes for a bad show either. Like ppls' weird obsessions can give them in depth knowledge and cool collections that are entertaining to experience. A lot of cool stuff comes from ppls' character "flaws." And I have watched it. I'm not saying he's a bad guy at all, or that he doesn't have good convos w/guests. He's just REALLY into those cars. Not sexually tho, that was a joke, not part of the rumors.

Not sexually tho, that was a joke, not part of the rumors. Oh, yeah, he's obsessed with them, but I don't think that really comes through in the show. Mainly because I watch car shows and know how nuts car guys can come off and what he's putting on the show is car guy light. Have you seen Jay Leno's Garage? As far as the show being an excuse to show off his cars, only two of the cars on the show so far have been his. And a scooter, but I don't think that counts. What I get from the show is not a guy obsessed with cars, which he is, but a guy obsessed with comedy. I've watched each season multiple times and the way he and his guests speak about the topic of comedy, the passion that comes through, is what brings this show alive. The cars are really an afterthought.
DragonSinger
My therapists were way too careful to let that happen, so I never got to hear anything juicy. But for OP's convo, I'm going with, "...are going to share custody." All the stuff I eavesdrop on that people quickly shush the other person on the phone or move to another room are always about marital problems. tsar4
I'd have to figure it out after I woke up, since I'd obviously have to be dreaming for me to be at a therapist.
