Credit where credit's due - wacky asked first. But it's in one of those offal-laden threads in DF ; I thought we'd have a better chance of an answer here.

Staff/volunteers can recommend posts and threads. When you recommend a thread it gets the little emblem next to it's name on the board page to signify that it's relevant. And apparently recommending a post highlights it in the thread.

I think it ties into other features but I'd have to check.

It just highlights the post and puts a “jump to this post” kind of button at the top of the page.

So can we request that a post or thread be recommended? Not that I question staff/volunteers' taste or judgement; seeing as we're all still here, taste and/or judgement is pretty much moot. I'm just curious as to whether the option is open.
