fuggstop
People are getting married less and less..or way later in life. But dont they deserve a big event where all their friends and family honor their awesomeness? So for my 40th birthday im saving up to throw my own FOREVER SINGLE party Invited along with all friends and family will be the other halves of my failed relationships (most of whom will definitely come because they still love me) Basically a wedding like reception..dinner..dj and dancing..toasts and huge cake just fo moi! I hope it makes it to the internet news and becomes a thing! *i decided to do this until i met the man of my dreams...but with my luck its still gonna happen lol

yazmineR
i like the idea i also "married myself" a decade ago 😐 the reception was eating surf and turf at the strip club. 😅 ive grown since then. do what works for you, what supports your growth, and what your heart whispers gently in the essence of love and nurturing 🙂

If you're going to get the party you want, you're better off throwing it yourself, or at least planning it yourself. It's like my birthday cake. I always make it myself, because then it turns out exactly the way I like it. 2

For a shower (wedding or baby) or graduation or some thing that's in a way congratulatory, I can see that. But for something that you just want to celebrate, like buying a house or getting a new job or surviving another year, why not celebrate the way you want and not how anybody else thinks you should? 1

If you think about it, a divorce actually could be something to celebrate if you find yourself no longer trapped in a really shitty marriage with a really shitty partner. A "never getting married party" is celebrating.... life as usual.

I can see a get-together with a couple of close friends and a couple of bottles once the paperwork's been signed, but not a full-blown celebration of correcting one of my more idiotic decisions (marrying the asshole in the first place). But then again, I'm still married to the asshole...
