Saw it last night, and I wasn't impressed. I think I knew the hype was too much... And sadly, John Malkovichs acting is wildly forced in this movie.

The plot line is messy to begin with and the "twist" at the end was less than desired.

Unnecessary foreshadowing through out the movie.

I will add, the music is amazing and I knew right away it was Trent Reznor.

I realized a little while ago all the memes were referencing an actual movie, but I felt the vibe that it was more of a 'read on Wikipedia' movie than a 'watch' movie

I mean, for a horror type movie it wasn't bad.

The memes did help it, tho.

Watched it last night, and honestly, it felt like I'd seen this movie before. Like a mashup of The Happening and every other survival movie known to man.

It's like someone saw A Quiet Place and thought they'd do the same thing with not being able to see instead of not making noise. But it's done badly. And with no real point.

For a movie called "Bird Box" the birds were really a minor plot point.

Real bad writing. 

Real good music.
