Studies show that focusing on gratitude can improve mental health and well being. It's good to keep a journal of things you're grateful for, but most of us don't think about it until someone asks us at Thanksgiving.

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I thought it would be good to have a thread to list things we're grateful for. I would like to keep up the gratitude throughout the year, too.

I'm thankful for my job. I'm not the best and i don't really like it, but it's a huge opportunity and I don't have to hurt myself for a paycheck anymore.

I'm grateful that my boss doesn't notice how lazy I've been.

I'm grateful that I still have my sister in my life.

What are you grateful and thankful for?

My job but not the nasty miserable bullys that like to call and harrass us...but they are few and far between.

My beautiful talented daughter who is nearly perfect in everyway. Shes exactly what i always wished and dreamt of and better!

My mom even tho she can be so mean but im thankful shes still around especially after losing my father 9 years ago.

My brother who is always there for EMOTIONAL support - which can be really hard but he handles my mood swings and nonsensical negativity very well - and FINANCIAL support in helping me save for important bills or loaning me small sums here and there without making a fuss or throwing it in my face. I wouldn't be HERE (on this board lol) if it weren't for him because he got me into AdultSwim.

The rest of my family. My father watching from heaven.

My car which *knock on wood* has never given me any serious problems and still drives perfect where any car i drove previously always get tranmissions issues by now cuz they cant handle the way i drive.

And last but not least, my board husband @Phillies that helps me with the ups and downs of my mental illness and provides me with insight and info even all my support groups and googling doesnt provide.

Oh and all my fuckbois. Especially military hottie who unfortunately stole my heart when i wasn't looking. Im thankful for all his sacrifices he makes for this country and still hanging in there after all these years after missing so many holidays and time with his family - while never ONCE complaining. I think abt that a lot when im at work and having a hard day...at least im not in a desert and being bombed...etc

Thankful for you all and all the entertainment you provide me and each other!

That at some point some brave soul combined noodles, cheese, milk, and butter together (despite probably being mocked by the rest of their village/tribe) and created mac n cheese

not sure if should be thankful or if should be sad about that one..

oh yeah, weed. I am thankful for that and everyone should be thankful that I have access to it :D. but I'm not as thankful for beer, it just gives my sister an excuse to act like an idiot

Thanks for adding so much! It sounds like you're really in touch with all the good things in your life and that's fantastic.

Fuck yeah. Mac n cheese is amazing.

Shit, cheese is amazing. I'm grateful that some crazy person saw milk go bad and decided to eat it anyways and discovered the miracle of cheese.

Yes, I'm so grateful for weed. It helps me escape and evaluate my state of mind so i can course correct when I'm going down the wrong mental paths.

I'm grateful for my former boss and good friend at work. Wouldn't be where i am today without him.

I'm grateful for my dad. He overcame his alcoholism and survived pain I've so far been mercifully spared but have glimpsed. He's my hero.

I'm grateful for my sister, surviving hardships i can't imagine. She's the only person who truly understands where i come from.

I'm grateful for my gf. She is probably the only reason I've made it this far without sinking back into madness.

My job

My parents' financial and emotional support

3 bandmates who are (or at least seem) as dedicated to our band as I am.

That last one is super hard to find. My step brother is in a band and they keep falling through on him.

Yeah, he's 37 and hasn't had a job in three years, just sits on the couch and plays PUBG.

I want to have kids but can't afford it yet. But idk, can't say much about others lives and all that.

We've actually had a lot of lineup turnover this past year. But 2 of those three I was talking about above have been with me since the beginning, and the other, while relatively new, I have no doubt he is fully committed.
