. . . for the first time in over ten years. I was in the mood for hush puppies, as I really liked them as a child. Many of the restaurants have shut down, and the remaining ones are in bad towns. This one I just went to literally had a group of people standing right outside the drive-thru window smoking weed. The food was pretty bad, but at least the hush puppies made me feel somewhat nostalgic. Probably never gonna eat there again though.

If you're near an Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips or a Popeye's Chicken, they have Hush Puppies.

I do live near a popeyes. I've never tried their hush puppies. I normally get their cajun rice.

LJS has always sucked to me....I hate their badder and their fries always seem undercooked and flimsy.....I "think" our Popeyes has hush puppies because we have fish and shrimp poboys but I'm not 100%

They had the strangest fried chicken strips I've ever had. I should have asked for sauce. Oh well.

I know I've never had their chicken because I refuse to eat chicken that's been in fish grease.

We were all dumb kids that liked bad things once. It's good to revisit them once in a while to remind yourself just how dumb you were.

Well, I suppose that's one way to put it, even though I really don't hold that sentiment. I usually ate it with my grandparents who are now dead.

I'd be willing to believe that's the majority of their customers. People that used to go there when they were younger, with older relatives, reliving the nostalgia, planting the same seeds in their own offspring.

I miss ljs. They don’t exist here. I grew up 5 miles from the beach in fl so I know it’s shitty seafood, but damn did I love drenching their fries in some fucking malt vinegar.

Not sure right now if it'd a LJS or Captain Ds bc they're the same thing in my head but one of them is basically the closest restaurant to my house, clustered w a couple other shitty places I never eat at... Never been in there

My only memory of it as a kid is going there for possibly the only time ever and getting the nasty wet chicken strips and during the meal getting up and shitting an enormous mound of green diarrhea, that obviously wasn't caused by the food I had just eaten, but I still associate it as food that will definitely make me sick

I used to go their with my grandma and she ask them for extra crumbs and they would give us a whole basket of that shit. No wonder I was a fat kid.

Wouldn't need Malt Vinegar if they had Curry Fries.
