midnight Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 It's a category 1 Hurricane at the moment. Expected to be a 2, maybe even a 3 by the time it makes landfall.

So, if it's a category 3 when it makes landfall, we will get tropical storm force winds and heavy rain, with the possibility of tornadoes. According to the local weather stations anyways. And you aren't far from us, so we are in for some rough weather late Wednesday and Thursday.

Mr Owl Posted October 8, 2018 Author Posted October 8, 2018 Back on topic @fuggstop update https://weather.com/storms/hurricane/news/2018-10-08-hurricane-michael-forecast-gulf-coast-florida Hurricane Michael will continue to intensify and is forecast to strike Florida's Panhandle as a Category 3 with dangerous storm surge flooding, destructive winds and flooding rainfall. Michael will also bring heavy rain and strong winds to other parts of the Southeast after it moves inland. Michael is currently centered about 20 miles southwest of the western tip of Cuba and is moving north. A hurricane watch is now posted for the northeast Gulf Coast from the Alabama/Florida border to Suwanee River, Florida, including Pensacola, Panama City and Tallahassee. Also in a hurricane watch is southwest Georgia. Hurricane watches are issued 48 hours before the arrival of tropical-storm-force winds, which is when outside preparations become dangerous. Tropical storm watches are in effect from Suwanee River, Florida, to Anna Maria Island, Florida, including Tampa Bay. Also in a tropical storm watch is a swath from the Alabama/Florida border to the Mississippi/Alabama border as well as inland areas of southern Alabama and southwest Georgia. A storm surge watch has been hoisted from Navarre, Florida, to Anna Maria Island, Florida, including Tampa Bay. This means life-threatening storm surge inundation is possible in the watch area within 48 hours.  1

rpgamer Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Unless it's going to bring serious rainfall and flooding danger, the only places that really need to worry are near landfall. Once the eye starts falling apart, it's nothing exceptional.
