I got promoted to Operations Specialist. Get a company truck and no longer have to do manual labor. Not to mention a nice raise

This is all too good to be happening to me. I don't know how I got so lucky. I just hope this amazing luck doesn't run out any time soon.

But man does Operation Specialist sound pretty cool.

Recycling in California. It's a crazy business to be in but it's fulfilling and has it's fun side.

All kinds of more complicated now that China is cracking down on the material contamination.   It's a necessity.

Oh yeah. And people do not know how to keep their recyclables clean. People are gross.

Inorite?

They also have no concept of plastic coming in different types. There's a reason that number is always inside a recyclable symbol.

So only plastic with those arrow symbols are recyclable? My dad once told me that they don't put those on all recyclable plastic anymore, but I was always skeptical of that.

For containers made for consumers that are disposable, it won't get recycled if it doesn't have that. Some types of stuff not made to be disposable are not marked.

Ok, that clears things up. I know for a fact that if I bring this up to my parents, they'll demand I prove this to them, and they're not going to take your word for it, so do you have a good link that describes this?

Don't wreck the truck...

I'm pretty sure that's how the last guy lost his job. No one will say what happened but it's been in the shop for a while. I hope they finish soon so i can get it. Tired of putting miles on my car.

I'd be worried that it got fixed properly then.

this is fantastic news.

i wish...WISH this state would recycle.  well..this area at least.

It makes a huge difference in how clean freeways and roads look at least in terms of bottles and cans. If I see someone drop a can i don't even worry about it, it won't be there for more than half an hour before it's picked up.

Still haven't got my truck yet. Or most of my training. But I've already started the job. I guess we're way behind on all our deadlines with the last guy quitting so we've been scrambling to catch up.

Can't wait to post pictures of my truck.

Banking

I can't personally comprehend being responsible for such vast amounts of money. I've always figured that's a high stress field. Sounds cool though.
