Unsurprisingly, Toonami will air Attack on Titan S3.

Well, I guess that makes it weird that Season 3 will get the red carpet rolled out for it on Toonami, while Season 2 ended up semi-buried at 12:30, since it contained LOTS of big reveals! If the anime just glosses over that, maybe it will be more accessible to an earlier audience?

Either way, with FLCL staying at 11:30 for Alternative (and maybe a 22-minute Pillows concert special on 8/25??), that means were getting Attack on Titan Season 3 at either 10 PM, 10:30 PM, or 11 PM. The latest time possible is the earliest timeslot that an AOT episode has ever aired, 11 PM, and the earliest time possible is the earliest timeslot Toonami has ever aired in on Adult Swim, 10 PM. Will AOT steal DBS's thunder? Only time will tell.

Another possibility is that something gets bumped back to 12 AM to give and later Boruto an even earlier timeslot, and that COULD be AOTS3. But I HIGHLY doubt that will happen (nor do I want it to happen, quite frankly). If Boruto gets an earlier timeslot than Midnight, the switcheroo should happen when it premieres and not before with PTE.

The story isn't really changing. Due to the copious amount of exposition in this part of the story during the manga, certain parts are merely going to be cut from the anime.

Hope so.  We don't need another Tokyo Ghoul S2 on our hands.  Attack on Titan could certainly easily benefit from some streamlining though.

Funny on that. The mangaka said recently that he gave permission for the anime staff to plow through this current political drama arc faster than he wrote in the manga because he "was burnt out".

Burnt out??? He's slower than a sloth taking a shit.

Interesting--Linked Horizon is on the ED this time:

We'll hear this version on August 25th...

Why do you have to come up with pedantic facts for every single thing Toonami does? It takes the fun out of everything.

Anyway, the fact that they've waited this long to announce expansion alongside AoT S3 blows my mind. There's no good reason why they can't tell the audience what to expect. I guess the reason why they started waiting until closer to a show's premiere was there were sudden problems with the contract that would come up and they would have to change the date and/or time. But... come on, that shouldn't be an issue at a month out from the premiere, let alone two weeks.

JoJo ran its course?!  You've all gone mad!

Part 4 > Part 2 > Part 1 > Part 3

Y'all in the worst arc, dawg.

Though, I'm weirdly more appreciative of the old-ass OVAs that cut most of the fights to get to Dio sooner rather than after a bazillion randos. An episode directed by Satoshi Kon certainly doesn't hurt.

Yeah, the whole "Stand user of the week" formula has gotten really tedious after more than forty episodes. Diamond is Unbreakable apparently has a more serialized plot, so I'm hoping to not get burnt out on it.

The other big complaint I have with this season is that pretty much everyone except Jotaro gets character development, with Polnareff often hogging up the running time with that story about... wasn't it his girlfriend? That's another problem DiU apparently fixes.

It's a formula that could work, but they got really lazy with it. Every week they meet a stand user, can't figure out that it's a stand user, get dominated by the stand user, then completely own the stand user with some complete ass pull.

I didn't really mind Polnareff all that much. Also, it was his sister you're thinking of.

Really, I'm just glad all of the Crusaders had near-equal opportunities against the enemy STAND users instead of just leaving every last one to Jotaro, which was my biggest fear from what I had heard before officially starting Part 3.

Most of the DiU cast gets character development, including a handful of antagonists. The main antagonist is cool af, too.

It starts out pretty Stand of the Week-y, but they thread a lot of them together in interesting ways as it progresses.

It also helps that Josuke has more silly charisma and the Stands are more interesting. Josuke gets the ability to

deconstruct and reconstruct however he pleases

Vs. Jotaro's Punch Things Really Hard Stand.

You're a blasphemer in general, so why should we care what you think! :P

I will agree that Stardust Crusaders has gone on a lot longer than it needed to, though.  The first 2 arcs were really fast-paced, and my friend said that those aren't even the most fast-paced arcs.  So I certainly wasn't expecting this.  After the old witch sent her seven best Stand users and they beat them, and then her, I thought it was to Dio after that.  But there were still more enemy Stand users!  Has anyone kept count of them all?  It's been enjoyable at least, but yeah, could definitely be quicker.

Yeah everyone has been saying that the new JoJo anime is the definitive one to watch.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?  Is that arc good or bad, or could be helped by being sped up?

I think tighten up the arc is a better description based on what people have said. To me it sounds like Isayama and the anime staff have tried to make the same events and information in the arc flow better. I've not read ahead in the manga though.

Spoiler

Some people seem to complain about the change in focus away from the Titans for the time being or the pacing of this arc, but I feel like plenty of other people also liked it for all the new intrigue and character development and since it supposedly delves into a lot of the previously hinted at conspiracies going on with the government during both season 1 and 2.

So if they get the pacing and flow right it sounds like it should be a pretty good arc and the first two eps were great and very gripping.

Can't wait, dub cast sounding great, and the voice they got for

Spoiler

Kenny sounds fantastic.

Couldn't resist checking out the first two episodes subbed, which I thought were great, gonna try to hold out now for the simuldub, which will be the Toonami airings, for the rest, like I did for S2, since it's only 2 weeks away.

Agreed, I really liked that.

It might have been a little longer than needed, maybe in order to fit the cour airing structure(?), but I really had a lot of fun with this show again this season week-to-week watching each episode and also seeing the reactions.

Glad to hear it sounds like the next arc is another winner.

Well if that's the case it should work out pretty well.  It's definitely something the first two seasons could have benefited from!

So is it just going to cover this one arc?
