haven't had one in years, but I am craving one in the worst way

but I don't keep ice cream and root beer around my house

I wanna stop at the grocery store on the way to work to pick up some, but I don't wanna wait for a 2 liter of root beer to get cold first

Find yourself either a "Farm & Fleet" or a "Cost Plus World Market"  Both sell individual glass bottles of soda.  I recommend "Dog & Suds".

nothing like that in my area, main street in my town consists of a tiny Kroger, two gas stations, a dollar general and about 20 gambling joints

A&W has the best in my opinion

IBC is the best root beer for a root beer float, or cream soda float, or better yet, if you can find it, a black cherry float.

oh yeah. i think they've been gone since 90's?

They're still around.  A&W was originally Californian, I believe, and there a ton of them still in the Visalia for some reason.  But, I ain't going to Visalia.
