Note these are thoughts on the movie there are no actual details in this post just my analysis of what the movie was like in general, analysis of some of the sections of the film in terms of impressions and feelings, and how it left me feeling, and if I would recommend seeing it in theatres. But just incase I have put the analysis part in tags though none of this would really count as spoilers. The part at the end is just my conclusion on whether I recommend it and the bare minimum films that should be viewed before.

Conclusions and Recommendations:

The conclusion is if you are a hardcore fan of the MCU and/or a comics fan with particular interest in the portrayal of this saga from the comics, I would definitely recommend going to see in theatres. If you're more of a casual fan that either is less invested or has not viewed at least: the first 2 Avengers movies, the first two Guardians of the Galaxy movies, Captain America Civil War, Thor Ragnarok, and Black Panther. I highly recommend you watch those first and/or catch it on DVD/digital service.

Hope that helps.

General Analysis:

So, my thoughts about the movie are that it does live up to the implied "War" saga it is billed as. The film also managed to capture as much as it could without being a literal representation the saga from the comics it is based on. That is largely due to the fact that the X-Men were in the original, and as you may know Marvel did not have rights to the X-Men until the very recent purchase of Fox by Disney. So this is to be expected.

The movie also did a very good job of accurately portraying the character and mentality of the main villain and his followers. So about that I was rather thrilled that they didn't ruin his character and did an authentic portrayal.

Now for a rough list of the problems with the film (which I personally do not feel out way the thrills and content). Some of the tense incidents in the movie left me kind of wanting more, and I don't mean that in a longer or more scenes way. I mean that I think there could have been better more emotional performances that really convinced me of the problems going on. I would guess that in terms of authentic feeling emotional performances and portrayals it was about half and half.

Don't get me wrong I feel there were some very emotionally investing moments but I'm not sure that they are on par with the general feel of some of the previous films. I will say one thing about the ending, I felt it was the weakest portion of the movie and was kind of empty feeling by comparison.

I am personally not upset about that too much because I figured that the ending would be less spectacular than the rest of the film going in, though I think they could have done better. The reason being that these cinematic conflicts will be handles over the next two movies, which will be Captain Marvel and Avengers movie 4. So this movie is really only about maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of the story we have been waiting for for 13 years.

Theres a part 2? Fuck!

Yes, it was always going to be a two-part cinematic event. Though as bucket mentioned they did drop the "part 1 and 2" a year or two ago. The intention has been the same they just haven't announced the official title of Avengers 4 yet.

@Adminderaptorpat

I had to modify my post to put the conclusion above the spoiler tags because spoiler tags still aren't fixed. The whole process is EXTREMELY annoying and this is the 3rd time I've spent 10 minutes trying to edit a post to try to format it decently but to no avail. Is there an ETA on whether or not this is ever going to be fixed? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Send me some popcorn from the theater

I got some popcorn, this lady had her purse in my seat when I got there. Then she proceeded to whisper about me to her husband for the first 20 minutes of the film as if I didn't know she was talking about me. These people did the whole "let's reserve seats so there is one orphaned seat between us and the next people." which is not what you are supposed to do, in fact usually the booking service won't let you so I dunno what they did. She acted extremely indignant and annoyed that I dare sit next to her.

I'm seeing it tomorrow at noon! Can't wait. Wish I could have seen it tonight but I had to work.

Make sure you go pee beforehand... it's 2 and half hours screen time, nearly 3 hours with previews and credits. Btw there is only one "Extra Scene" it's at the very end of the credits which for this movie are extremely long. I think there was probably nothing but credits for 5 to 8 minutes afterward.

I managed to make it through without having to use the bathroom

I just wonder what they're gonna do for Ant Man & The Wasp what with everyone being dead and all
