I found a tutorial on how to enable background music. But sometimes a certain rom doesn't work the way I want it to, so I gotta tinker with the menus and find the right settings, or I gotta dive deeper and mess with the overclock settings or what have you.

inhumanrampager Posted March 28, 2018 Author Posted March 28, 2018 I've always wanted to build a portable Game Boy styled console with a Pi, buuuut it is also beyond my skill level, mainly on the soldering end of things. Figuring out the circuitry isn't that hard for me, because that's just point A to point B. I just don't currently have a good space to solder things just to learn how to do it well. But I have seen some cool shit, like bar top arcades, retro consoles, and home automation things. Hell, I even once saw a garden that was automatically watered with a Pi. Like there was all sorts of mechanisms hooked up to it and it ust told them what to do and when. It was neat.
Poof Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 i found soldering to not be so hard once i learned about the different kinds of solder, rosins, and other products. or more importantly how to test for proper connection and shorts w/a multimeter so i dont have to turn the thing on and pray i did it right. i want to try and fix bf's fried xbox1 but i dont have the tools. im waiting until something important enough breaks that itll be worth investing in a new soldering kit.

Took a quick look on Amazon, most kits look like they're floating between 15 and 30 bucks. Honestly, that doesn't seem too bad, unless that's way too cheap and everything breaks.
