garbagepailcat Posted December 10, 2017 Author Posted December 10, 2017 @Distortedreasoning All Dogs Go to Heaven is a good one. @Cau I’ve never watched that! It’s apparently based on a Bradbury novel though, and that’s pretty cool.
garbagepailcat Posted December 10, 2017 Author Posted December 10, 2017 this scene pops into my head every time I make a blood pact. 2 1

It wasn't a very successful film commercially or critically. But I thought it was pretty good. Like Nemo, The Pagemaster took my mind to places I never thought it could be (And I don't even do drugs). Plus, there's a good message about not being too afraid of everything. Fuckin right? I LOVED that movie as a kid...was just telling LB about it and he doesn’t know what I’m talking about...had a big name cast in it too...have you checked it’s tomato meter? Lol it’s 18% ??

Most complaints about Pagemaster were about how preachy it was and how it didn't say much about the literature it covered. But I think of it like The Man From Pluto. Sometimes films are personal and, while they may flop, they were made specifically with a heartwarming personal message. The Pagemaster was created by someone who wanted to share his love of reading with his loved ones. It's a personal film.

The Pagemaster is a cult film. It may not have been super popular, but it had charm. I still watch it regularly whenever I need to connect my inner child to my outer adult. GuyBeardmane Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 BEFORE THEY WERE ADULT SWIM Hanna Barbera Superheroes were my jam as a kid. Before I ever got into X-Men or Superman or anyone else, it was Blue Falcon and Dyno-Mutt. 2
garbagepailcat Posted December 10, 2017 Author Posted December 10, 2017 (edited) Hanna Barbera cartoons were always the best. These were “before my time,” but I grew up watching reruns. Edited December 10, 2017 by garbagepailcat
