This is Toby our 10-week old Daschund puppy awake:

This is Toby asleep (laying on me):

These were taken last week (9 weeks old), we got him at 8 weeks from his breeder (which is the minimum allowed).

He is a sweet Dog and a bundle of joy when awake. Took him to an obedience and socialization class tonight for the first time. He had fun.  :P

Hopefully I'm the next board member to get a pupper

Have you moved in with your significant other yet? Does he want one?

So far based on my experiences I'd recommend Dashcunds to anyone that wants a medium energy level dog and is small enough to hold or cuddle with. They can be a bit difficult to potty train though sometimes. My last dog was a boxer (much bigger dog), this guy is like a tiny boxer with the way he behaves so I'm pretty pleased. :P

Since May and yes.

Either Husky or Shiba Inu is the official plan... unless I find something to adopt that I end up falling in love with :D

Those eyes tho

He's a pure breed. Though he's technically not my Dog (my mother's dog), he spends the most time with me since I am usually here during the day. My mother paid 1000 dollars for him, but he was definitely the prettiest puppy of the litter imo.

The eyes are like a steel colored aquamarine color. They are just adorable and gorgeous. He's so pretty that we are thinking about letting him breed unlike most of our last dogs (though not sure about that just yet).

Word to the wise: alot of small dog breeds are pretty expensive and some have common or specific health problems you should be aware of before buying.

Daschunds tend to develop back problems because of their elongated frame (when they are much older).

Kunta Kinte.

Yeah.... well I didn't name him. But I think its a cute name. Toby wasn't even originally associated with that until roots came along. Tobias is a biblical name.

Also Shiba Inus are really pretty doggies (Huskies too but they tend to have a goofier more playful look I think). Also, congrats on your living arrangements. I hope you two are having a splendid time. ;)

I have a bar/lounge in the basement. Life is good.

The fact that you have a form of man-cave is not the least bit surprising to me...

I mean, there really isn't much of a "man-cave" theme to it... It's obviously not sports themed and surprisingly not car-themed...

I have a pool table which rotates and becomes an air hockey table though!  ::spin::

It doesn't have to be, nerds can have man-caves too.

I'm into larger breeds of Dogs but that is a FUCKING. ADORABLE. PUPPY!

is that a weimaraner? Or a weimer-wiener?  :D :D :D wiener .... :|:(

It's funny you should say that, Daschunds (weiner dogs) are often compaired as tiny versions of weimeraners, mainly because of their head features and elongated frame. :P

Look at that pook-a-boo.  :)

Cutie pupper. Are you going to attempt leash-to-collar type training or just go with harness training due to his smaller size?

We have already purchased a harness trainer, we had a bit of trouble finding one that fit correctly. I hear it is a common problem with this type of dog, since their body shape is fairly unique when compared to most other small dogs.

Couple more that I took. These were taken during playtime.

Toby bringing back his favorite toy, Emporer Basilisk during fetch. You can see the funny nature of this as the snake is actually quite a bit longer than him. :P

Having fully vanquished his nemesis, Toby decides to dispose of the body underneath our couch...

This is pretty typical behavior for Daschunds. They were originally bred as small game hunting dogs, to chase burrowing animals and to also kill field vermin e.g. rabbits, possums, moles, ground squirrels, snakes, ect...

come on sandy

It won't fit in just one picture frame though, I'd have to take like 4 different shots to get the whole thing.
