It's been awhile since you mentioned the dude: I seem to recall there was some other chick that was locked on that, to continue the bad analogy, missed the target. She was really putting on the moves if I'm remembering this right, and she still got friendzoned in a somewhat non committal way. This might be fine since he's being cool and not pressuring you for anything, but some dudes like having a harem that they keep around but not too attached to.
