mha My Hero Academia Episode #85 (422) DISCUSSION!!!
HardcoreHunter replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
All the Naruto episodes have been dubbed for a couple of years now at least. It's just that it's had a horrible consistent run on cable. Hell the series started on Disney back in 09 two years after it had started airing in Japan in 07. Really we haven't had a new episode of Naruto on tv since 2016. Episode 337 was the last new episode that aired before Toonami reset the block then brought it back later at an earlier arc. We're at episode 298 right now. It'll be 3 years and 5 months at one episode a week before we even get to what would be considered a new aired dubbed episode of naruto. Really I think we should have two episodes a night for a while just to try and burn through it till we get there. Even when we are at episode 337 there are still 163 more episodes plus the movie. So it will be around 6 1/2 years for Naruto to finish at one episode a week.- 308 replies

mha My Hero Academia Episode #85 (422) DISCUSSION!!!

Funi is people in their mid 50s woke, vs liberal arts college 20 somethings woke. They're very different levels. Especially when most of the VA's spent their 20s-40s doing racist and gay jokes in dubs, then suddenly are doing very progressive slant script changes that change the context of the scene.- 308 replies

MHA is getting delayed in Japan as well. The VA for Bakugo is getting throat surgery. It's any wonder why such a soft spoken role would require the VA to get surgery.- 308 replies

My Hero Academia Episode 86 Discussion Thread
HardcoreHunter replied to The1gairon's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
MHA so far has also had very little filler. Bleach at episode 100 had 37 filler episodes. So 37% of bleach at ep 100 was filler already.- 333 replies

My Hero Academia Episode 86 Discussion Thread
HardcoreHunter replied to The1gairon's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
I'm trying to remember what you're even trying to prove me wrong about? Was it that Ichigo and Rukia's relationship is downplayed in the manga compared to the anime which it is; or that the vast majority of female cast are mostly developed in the anime, and don't have much to do in the manga. Because I'm pretty sure I'm right on both accounts. "you're over blowing the amount of filler in bleach" Really? I'll agree that a lot of the filler was an improvement, but my point was that it's not in the manga. It's probably not necessary to watch the rebellion arc to get the twist, though it made a lot more sense if you had watched it. At episode 100 in Bleach we were at the point where the Bounts invade the SS. I think by this point the only things that the female cast had done of note was Rukia's early episodes up to being kidnapped and rescued, Kukaku teaches a skill that's only ever used once outside of it being tossed up in filler, Orihime healed Ichigo, Isane gets gut punched by Ichigo, Unohana suspects trolling is afoot which does nothing really other than make her look more competent than she was in the manga, Momo gets stabbed, Matsumoto Fights Kira, Yachiru gets Kenpachi lost, Kiyone says some words, Nanao throws some flowers for her captain's entrance, and Yoruichi trained Ichigo how to use bankai, and got in a fight with soifon. At episode 100 soifon I think gets into a fight with a bount. Not saying that MHA's female cast are given the spotlight they deserve, but they're more developed characters at the same mile marker.- 333 replies

I read for them to get that episode, they had even sexier swimsuits for the girls, so that they could censor dodge and have them use these swimsuits that they actually wanted from the start in the negotiations. I do wonder what the too sexy for censors swimsuits looked like though.

I wear it because big brother says to do so, but it's dumb. They are pretty much the duck and cover all over again. It doesn't do anything but it gives people peace of mind. They do help some if someone is already infected. As a cough will only travel a couple of feet rather than over 8ft. Though healthy people it's probably worse because it causes people to touch their faces even more than they may have had they gone raw dog. Most people I see who take off their mask at their car, the first thing they do is rub their face...after they were in a store touching things that hundreds of other people have already touched.

Fire Force Season 2 to hit Japanese TV in July

Cup size is larger in that but hips I think are on point. Black Clover had a big problem with Noelle due to the artists using a bad character sheet for her black bulls robes. I've joked that her robes have a breast concealment enchantment because she goes from Flat to D cups when she removes them. -

What's Toonami gonna air on May 23rd?

Processes get more streamlined as people become accustomed to the new working conditions. If anything they're probably doing better and feeling less stress in these more lax work deadlines. From when I talked with Monica Rial a couple of years ago; she had said that she would have hit her old self for complaining back when they were taking a month to dub one or two episodes of a series. The one week wire to get the footage, get the scripts, localize them, do all the line reads, edit them to air. Now do that x5 or x8 depending on how many simul dubs are out. After they've figured out the lines of communication I'm sure that this is probably easier on them than not. -

I'd say it's still better than 10 years ago. Nine years ago Haganai came out and finished airing september 2011. Funimation didn't have a dub ready till august 2013. For most of Bleach's run we were 3 years behind the Japanese release. Inuyasha final act was also 3 years behind. Still nothing is as bad as the One Piece dub. Which to this day is 10 years behind Japan. They're still dubbing the end of the impel down arc. If you're antsy you could always start other series or read manga. -

I think people overestimate studios for anime dubbing. It kinda shows what a real waste of money a lot of the studio is. You could show me an episode pre-shutdown and now, and I wouldn't be able to tell you any key audio differences that I can hear that would ever justify needing to record in a studio. It's easier for the ADR staff and editors to be in a studio, but the end product feels like it would have been the same. It's extra polish that really goes unnoticed. Maybe if I put on my $300 headphones and listened to the audio with my eyes shut and focused I might be able to pick some quality drops, but from my shit TV speakers I didn't notice anything. Kinda reminds me of when Kiser on team4star spent like 8 weeks doing all those edits to rocks and 18s dress and hair etc, and nobody noticed. So then he made a 40 something episode series going down the hundreds of needless hours spent doing that to finally get recognition for it. It's the same with audio that if you have to point out the quality for people to actually take notice, then it's kinda unnecessary and a placebo at a point. -
Computer Sciences would be good as it covers a large growing field. A couple of trade jobs that pay well are Plumbers and Electricians. Dental Hygienists pay well and only need an associates.

I don't know why you'd think it wouldn't get a dub. I haven't found anything of them saying that they're dropping any shows. If any show already has a season 1 dub I am 100% sure the other seasons will be dubbed eventually. Depending on their work load it may not be simul-dub, but I think it will be within the realm of what we were used to for dubs being within a few months of the release date. Really can't do any worse than Crunchy dragging their feet years before they had a Konosuba dub out. Because of recent events they'll probably use that as the excuse as to why the film isn't already dubbed. Hopefully this director will have great taste and just flood the series with forced Maki fanservice. -

We'll have cons again in 2021, the point I was getting at was that funimation may not be at them because con space is expensive and it'll take time for a lot of companies to recover financially from the shutdown. I wouldn't be shocked if some cons offer companies reduced rates or even free space at cons; just to have content for the people going. E3 was doing this with a lot of indie studios just to fill up space. Cool, didn't know that. Don't know if that would solve live performance rights for cons, but at least there's just the one version.
