  1. More the writing was on the wall that ASMB was being phased out for twitter. We actually suspected that for the final 3 years of ASMB, when they stopped promoting the site in bumps all together and were starting hashtags. Made a post a while back about compressing some of the threads to try and increase traffic in them, especially the slower ones. Outside of moving old toonami threads to an archive it's difficult to merge them with anything, because they'll inevitably bury other threads weekly unless they're either self contained or weekly threads archived when new threads are made the next week. To me though I tend to just click the Activity button to see what the active threads are, rather than visiting the hubs. Anime and Manga + Toonami I don't think that toonami needs to be a sub folder, if anything the toonami sub folder should just be switched to the Toonami archive to place old Episode threads since we get new ones weekly and it's just clutter. Arts and lit + Music + Food and Drink This makes sense to me since food is a form of culinary arts, and music is always considered an art. These folders also have very little traffic so merging them may be more beneficial. Movies and TV + Sports + Adult Swim + Horror Movies and TV, Adult Swim, and horror are pretty much dead folders. Sports has a couple of active threads, but all this stuff is either film or airs on tv so it makes sense to meld them together, and possible gain better conversations. Games Free for all Rants + Dumpster fires IMHO these can be combined, they're the same concept and have the same posters who use them. Though really it doesn't matter since I could care less if these threads succeed or become stagnate.
  2. Star Wars - The rise of Skywalker 3/10 Really wasn't expecting even bronze by this point let alone gold, but my god did no thought go into this movie. The Grudge 2020 1/10 This one just sucked. I was the only person in the theater watching this shit to. The ghosts really suck in this, and the characters all just suck. One part early one feels like it's going to be interesting, until really shitty writing steps in and throws a bunch of telegraphed jumpscares in. Really the best and only scare in the whole film is shown in the trailer. The ghosts though just don't make sense. Like they all do the crackling noise even though they didn't have their necks broken. The ghost family made no sense in this one. The film starts out that the mother is in Japan being a nurse and is haunted by Kiyako for all of 4 seconds. Then she goes home and the cut away is that she kills her family when she gets home. Also we don't see Kiyako ever again in the film. From what I knew her powers didn't extend into possessing people to kill their family. Her whole MO was going into her house means you, and only you are going to die. Kiyako's death in the original Grudge made sense for her to become spiteful. Her husband assumed she was having an affair with a teacher and he kills his wife and child, and cat, and the teachers pregnant wife. Before going back to the house and either hanging himself or being killed by Kiyako's spirit. Not just; oh ghosts work on zombie rules, so if you are killed by one you become one. Not to mention the movie just moves slow. The padded piece of shit felt like I was sitting though a damn harry potter film in terms of length despite only being 90mins. I liked the idea of having 3.5 stories that all linked together, but the ghosts just sucked. We get far to much focus on them at times and it removes anything creepy from them. One is just a guy trying to sell the house talking to a little ghost girl on the couch, who only does ghost shit when he looks away, but it goes on for like 10 fucking minutes. She coughs up blood at one point while he's on the phone and that's it. Could you imagine a Jason or Freddy film where they just sit on the fucking couch and do nothing for 10mins. Them being in the room isn't scary after a point. They really missed the mark of what made the ghosts in the older films scary. Also the fx were all CGI trash. Most of the timess the ghost aren't even deformed, they just look like normal people with flesh tone skin. At best they'll use some CGI to make them look like garbage, because cake makeup is too expensive I guess at spirit halloween. Really just avoid this one.
  3. I feel like whoever worked on GI joe also was working on TMNT. Cobra Commander has some parallels to Shredder.
  4. My friend had an argument with his boss at his old job like that. We had like 18'' of snow overnight and it was still snowing hard. His whole housing plan was snowed in and the trucks hadn't made it through yet. His boss called him and told him he had to go open the office, they couldn't/didn't want to, and everyone else said they couldn't/didn't want to. He said he was snowed in and didn't know when the trucks would be by. His boss then pissed and moaned about it and he got sassy and told them fine he'd go shovel out the mile of road to get out of his plan, then shovel the 3 miles to work. I don't think his boss picked up on the sass because then they just kept asking how long it would take, until he told them the trucks probably won't be through for 3-4hrs; either start late, go do it yourself, or not open today. The branch went under like 8 months after they laid him off for horrible management.
  5. Beer always tasted weird to me, even now I only actually enjoy stout beer which many people aren't large fans of; and it's like 3-4x more expensive than domestic brands, so I don't usually drink beer. However I've always liked whisky. My parents and grandparents always gave us whisky for pretty much everything from teething to sore throats and fevers. Tea with jack and honey was always something I remember drinking on cold days as a kid at my grandmas. I also have some sort of odd genetics at play where it takes a lot more alcohol to affect me. I rarely go to the bar anymore other than social reasons, because it's just too expensive to not get a buzz. The one bar near me though has really good Rubens. The amount of meat and stuff that goes on them is really cheaper than buying the stuff to make them at the store. I assume they do that on the assumption that they'll make it up in alcohol sales, though you get like a 2lb sandwich and a 1lb of fries for $8. I can't even get a pound of corned beef for that at the store unless it's on sale.
  6. I can relate to this. Pretty much any money my brother or I'd gain either went back into utilities or food. I remember filling out the paper work to get free lunches at school when we were little. My dad found out beat us, told the school he made enough money and to punish us for being leeches and trying to get free meals. Then called me and my brother nothing but sponges that take and take. He still brings up money he spent raising us, I'm half surprised he didn't get receipts notarized. There were times when we were broke, mostly after my grandma died and dad had to pay for her funeral and hospital bills. Though other than that he just didn't like spending or giving money.
  7. Beer, always drank just whisky as a kid. Now I'm fine with beer unless it's light beer.
  8. I didn't like stain, he really needed some more build up as the hero killer before he jobbed to some kids. MHA did good with the girls in actually giving them all personality. You don't really have any characters that feel like they're a copy of another character in a different skin. You run into that some in Naurto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, DXD, etc.
  9. No Guys name is godoy. Same guy that was making all the BakugoxUraraka stuff a while back and making people go insane because they thought it was real.
  10. 2hrs is far too long of a video. That should be broken into multiple segments for a series of videos. He'd actually get far more people willing to watch it then. Also I tend to avoid videos where they're mainly just calling out other anitubers. It gets annoying and it usually assumes that I'm up to date on every person on youtube who talks about anime. The other thing I hate that anitubers do is talking to an anime character as if it's their friend they're giving advice to. I don't know how many reviews I've turned off when I start to hear "Yo my man (characters name) you gotta great bod, you don't need to be stressin out dawg; just be you. Ya know what I'm sayin, shiet be crazy aight". It happens a lot more than you'd think in Naruto and DBZ videos. The last two things that will make me skip a video are overly cringe OC to represent the person, using a fake voice, and arguing with people like their popular opinion is really that much of a hot take. "insert someone saying they think rukia/orihime is an over rated character, insert the eye roll while they do a dumb voice of the other side of their argument, insert a winced face telling people to calm down let them explain, etc".
  11. I didn't really start to care much for Deku till season 3. He still cried in it, but there were more worthy crying moments like breaking all of his limbs fighting muscular; or his hero saving them to fight All for one etc. Compared to what he'd cry about in season 1 and 2 those were at least manageable moments. Though that season also had him crying over nothing a lot as well. Season 2 I think gets far too much hype over nothing. People talk about it as if it were the Chunin exams. Except it was life and death in the chunin exams. In the sports festival it was class pride and a student internship shadowing program on the line, oh god the suspense. Season 1 though was just not good for pacing. Really you could just go into the last few episodes of it for the league of villains fight and you wouldn't miss much, especially because of all the flashbacks that happen.
  12. I remember reading the early manga a while back around the same time I started worlds end harem. Still haven't finished that one either.
  13. Mostly the waifu. The plot doesn't really pick up till season 3. Deku the MC doesn't even start to become tolerable till season 4, but that may be because he's barely in it compared to the past seasons, and it focuses a lot on more characters. However If you can't find anything worth watching in the series by the end of season 1, then this absolutely isn't a series you'd enjoy. It picks up some, but you have to be somewhat invested in the plot to want to progress. I've been there with Detective Conan. Watched like 52 episodes, was wondering when the fuck it would get good. Everyone keeps saying it gets better. Quit get kek'd and filterpilled for missing the super special awesome arc that everyone likes. Same shit happened with me watching Hunter X Hunter except I watched all of that and still hated it. Best advice is, that if you don't like something; don't have others explain to you why to like it. Just find something new that you do like and don't spend your time on things you know you'll hate.
  14. Yeah but he made it from scratch. It's like in cooking class when we'd have to make things like mayo from scratch. They don't want to test your ability to open a jar or can, they want you to be able to make it yourself.
  15. Some doctor said he got indigestion in the 80s after eating Chinese food. Without any testing or focus groups, he deduced that MCG is in Chinese food, but not other foods, so it must be MSG that is giving him indigestion. He wrote a paper on it, and it's became an accepted fact. Especially the diet craze started and people were trying to find magical fat causing things in foods to avoid.
  16. He wasn't using salmon roe. He made fake salmon roe out of boiled seaweed, miso, and MSG. He pretty much made super salty bubble tea
  17. So his secret ingredient every week is just the chemical that makes everything taste better, and people in america don't like for unknown reasons
