i'm embarrassed to say that one's been sitting on my shelf for like five years. something to read over the holidays?

Number9dream by David Mitchell better known as the author of cloud atlas. this one is about a young japanese man who comes to tokyo in search of his long lost father. instead, he finds all manner of weirdness in the tokyo underworld. extremely trippy. you'll read half a chapter only to realize that it's just the main character imagining something that isn't really happening. the ending pretty much floored me.

i use them for their olive bar. that's about it...

yeah. i didn't have much to begin with, but it's safe to say i won't be retiring until sometime after i'm dead.
