My late Aunt was an excellent cook - her prime rib was absolutely amazing, but her lasagne was terrible. She would not add sugar to the sauce and it was horribly bitter. Somehow she got it in her mind that her lasagne was MY FAVORITE and kept making it when I'd come to their place. I had to convince her that it was my Dad that liked it, knowing that he'd never come back north.
