  1. You might like this movie - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065534/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_9
  2. Heh, Maggotbox is what we called them at work.
  3. Like them, but much like crab legs, too much effort & mess for so little reward.
  4. I'd switch from Coke to Pepsi and Chips to Fries...oh wait, you put Olympics not Olympia.
  5. I did it intentionally at another store. The security guard was tracking this girl that was grabbing handfuls of cassettes and hiding them on counters outside the dept. He decided to use our video cam display to keep an eye on her while remaining out of view himself. He didn't see it when I hit record. She apparently got wise and left the store, and he came back to tell me. While he was talking, I used a remote to playback the recording on the same monitor he'd been using. He glances at the monitor and there's the girl at the tapes again. "Son of a bitch, she's back", and he peeks around the corner - she's not there. He looks at the monitor - she's there, he looks back at the counter - she's not there. You can see it dawn on him what is going on and he does a slow turn and says "Very funny" in a voice that contradicts what he's saying. Meanwhile the Dept Mgr is in tears, trying to stifle his laughter.
  6. The TV talk in this thread just reminded me of unintentionally pranking a customer. VCRs had just come out & we had one. I had recorded a portion of a December Bears game along with commercials. Fast Forward to mid-July. I found and played the tape to see what was on it, but got called back to the dept register. As I watched, a customer was looking at the TVs and passed the one with the recording playing on it, just as a promo for the evening news came on and announced "up to 8 inches of snow expected overnight". Surprised the customer didn't break his neck, the way he whipped his head around.
  7. Malort is nothing. Salmonella sucks.
  8. Frozen shoulder has better movement, but still feels like my arm is being ripped from its socket when I move it too quickly.
  9. Some would say our rotor is an antique too. 😄
  10. Fancy 60s houses had them. Even fancier if your rooftop antenna had a rotor with a nice long-range Winegard antenna. My Dad had a channel changer & antenna rotor...Me. Go up into the attic and turn the antenna until I say to see if we can get the (blacked out) Chicago Bears game in.
  11. These were fun too. Hard plastic wrapped twin lead that never seemed to stay in the plug.
  12. Cousin of mine had a 90" in his basement. His little boy drew on it with magic markers. He asked me, since I used to sell Home Entertainment stuff, if there was anything he could do. I found some stuff online, and thankfully it took the stains right off without damaging the screen.
  13. Zenith was bought out by Lucky Goldstar (LG). The last console models I sold had an "AFC" switch that, along with a little tweeking on channel 3, would remove the local cable channel's scrambling. All the premium channels were sub bands of channel 3 on that cable, including some that weren't part of any package they offered.
  14. Sony's probably the best, but I never liked their "our products don't have issues" attitude when I had to take stuff in for repair. I used to buy Panasonic stuff because I knew it would hold up, but they've pretty much disappeared. The 55" Samsung I bought came with about 5 dead pixels. CR has the top 10 as all Sony or LG. #11 is a Samsung.
  15. Thanks, I work hard at it.
  16. If I were to guess from the look on her face, I'd say she was summoning her inner "Karen" because some kids in the direction of her icy gaze are acting up.
  17. No it wasn't. That meme has been making the rounds, but someone into that sort of thing posted this elsewhere - "actually according Fandom the timeline for Max Max is 1984 ( some visible dates are seen in the film) which was a "few years from now" (based upon the 1979 film release. Road Warrior was set about 3 years after Mad Max. The 3rd film was 15 years later."
  18. I think for some of those it was more about "art" than comfort. Just look at some of the chairs Frank Lloyd Wright designed.
  19. I figured this would be the reply. Still, we usually hear about anything 4 or above here (unless something lower happens locally, like the 3.8 in 2010) and I don't ever recall hearing about NC here.
