It was after episode 3's ratings came in that they announced the schedule change, though it only took place after episode 5.

Soils the sheets worse than JoJo, I kept telling 'em. At least now Jingai's paying more attention to the demo ratings than the overalls.

It's April Fool's so I can forgive the ratings for sucking, but still, 300K people watching subs is better than any of us were probably expecting.

I don't think a show's been kicked down more than an hour in the schedule since Tenchi Muyo! GXP's move from 1:00 to 3:00.

When FLCL premiered back in 2003, it aired at midnight on the dot. And that goes without mentioning that one Burger King "Have It Your Way" night from 2006 where FLCL aired in its entirety from 11 to 2. 11:30 is not. TOO. RISQUE for a show that was potentially scandalous for freaking 2000. As for the schedule, I'm guessing DB Super and DBZ Kai stay where they are, Black Clover through Space Dandy moves down half an hour, only one Bebop rerun, and GITS stays put.

NEVER MIND TONIGHT IT IS THEN. With all the times Demarco told us Toonami would never ever EVER air subs, the fact that they'd actually break that platinum rule on April Fool's of all nights is very comforting. As someone who enjoys subs and dubs equally, this was a 10/10 prank. Though I'm still waiting for that new show replacement announcement... Ah well, it'll probably pop up during [as] Jr. tonight. DRAGONBALL SUPER - I don't have a lot to say, besides OF COURSE ZAMASU WAS EVIL ALL ALONG. DRAGONBALL Z KAI - We Kid Buu now, and yes that's a bad thing. BLACK CLOVER - Be glad we didn't get the subbed version of this tonight, otherwise all of our eardrums would be kaput. FLCL ALTERNATIVE - No matter how perfect the original was, I've always been up for a sequel of this wonderful show. I wasn't expecting them to stealth premiere Alternative, though. Since Progressive is coming first, I thought they'd pimp that out, but them doing Alternative instead is an acceptable substitute. Added bonus, the decade-plus I've spent working on NIBAI MUGENDAI (which is old news BTW, Kinky Kunoichi is what's hot in my original anime book right now) paid off in a way. Production I.G animating, mid-2000s era Pillows songs featured in the soundtrack, and [adult swim] on the production crew? It's like NM come to life in at least a couple of respects. I literally cannot wait for the next five. September cannot come soon enough. MIND GAME - I needed to rewatch this movie after my original 2009 fansub viewing, and I'm glad they had the guts to do it. (And use the maximum rating too!) Best part was the yakuza footballer chase scene, second best was the escape from the whale, third was that trippy two minutes of Yang in that cat-eared hood with the inflatable breasts and crotch attachment. That hit my fetish buttons just right. But seriously, watch this movie if you have depression. 99 times out of 100, it'll cheer you right the fuck up. SUBBED PREMIERES/RERUNS - I'll do regular coverage on it next week, but I watched them anyways and they were glorious. I'm pretty sure legal stuff was the reason they couldn't get the Japanese version of the Gundam episode, but considering how much of a downer that semi-liar Jingai says it is, jumping straight from JoJo to Hunter was sweet relief. I wanna strangle Illumi, or at least pay Hisoka to do it for me. Any time we see the full Naruto OP on TV is a good one. I was fucking ecstatic seeing the Japanese ending of Dandy on TV too. Yep, Bebop's dub is better than the sub. I can't get over them using the English language closed captions for the GITS episode. SCAVENGERS - When you think of it as more an animation test than something meaningful, I can see the appeal.
