  1. Assuming no block reductions or limits on what can be aired... 11:30 - Mob Psycho 100 II (replacing MHA) 12:00 - High School DxD (replacing Demon Slayer) 12:30 - Food Wars! The Third Plate 1:00 - Gungrave (replacing SAO) 1:30 - JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind 2:00 - Black Clover 2:30 - Naruto Shippuden Mob because season 1 was fucking awesome and I hear season 2's even better. DxD because back when I watched it during its premiere in Japan, it surprised me with how engaging its plot was and how likeable its characters were. Also, because Demarco hates fanservice and I know airing this without his say would make his head explode. Gungrave because we were cheated out of it during the ASA era, even if we did get Paranoia Agent as compensation for it, and after watching the amazing episode 14, I want to share my experiences with you who haven't seen it yet. Vento Aureo got moved up because it really deserves better than to be sandwiched between the two halves of the Pierrot Power Hour of Pain.
  2. It really says something about the state of isekai when the first ever isekai I plan on watching outside of [as] (assuming SAO even counts) is one where the MC being reincarnated into the other world is female. It helps that the plot (high school girl gets reincarnated as the villainess of her favorite otome game and tries to avoid all the bad ends) sounds pretty entertaining, and the fact that production on the series wrapped before the broadcast's even set to start is an added bonus. Then again, this is me we're talking about, so don't go taking this as a recommendation.
  3. Only the best for Tsuru-sensei.
  4. On the bright side, at least that chocolate will melt eventually.
  5. If you know me (and I doubt some of you really do), then you know that Toshiyuki Tsuru is one of my favorite anime directors. He may not have the name recognition of Hayao Miyazaki or Hideaki Anno, the impact of Satoshi Kon or Masaaki Yuasa, the cult followings of Shinichiro Watanabe or Kunihiko Ikuhara, or even the extensive repertoires of Seiji Kishi or Akiyuki Shinbo, but his works are among my favorites, even if it's mostly just Gungrave and the fictional work of mine I imagined him directing that's in there. Those that are aware of Tsuru's greatness know him from his involvement in two of the biggest manga-to-anime adaptations of our day, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. His contributions to the franchise included two of the final episodes of the Land of Waves Arc, part 1 of Gaara vs. Rock Lee, Shikamaru coming to terms with Asuma's death (which was what got me to start keeping a close eye on his industry presence), and the story of how Hinata got her crush on Naruto while defending him against Pain in the present day, not to mention countless opening and ending theme animations, a movie, and an official "greatest hits" AMV. I bring him up now because tonight marks the beginning of a six-part filler arc directed by the man himself, under his current pseudonym of Yasuaki Kurotsu (a double-portmanteau of Yasujiro Ozu and Akira Kurosawa). It was originally going to be a movie, but circumstances led to it being restructured as an anime-original storyline to pad for time in favor of your garden variety Naruto filler. You might not be as excited for it as I am, be it because of your unfamiliarity with Tsuru or your dislike of Naruto and/or its filler material, but you should know that I am PUMPED for this, and if you see me gushing about it over the next month and a half - maybe two or more if the rumor of FLCL nights after the DBZ Kai marathon turn out to be true - just know that my above rundown is the reason why. THE POWER ARC PART 1 Premiering tonight at 2:30 A.M. Only Toonami.

  7. [in Avdol's voice] YES.
  8. Inbred enough to give him a hereditary compulsion to up his post count by saying whatever he thinks in response to what he sees. Seriously, I couldn't tell you how many of his posts I'd seen that added absolutely nothing to the conversation.
  9. Gungrave 14 (rewatch) Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! 9
  10. The closest I've ever gotten to "bingeing" on Netflix was watching two episodes of Kengan Ashura in a row. And I only did that because the first one I watched ended on such a down note, the only way I could recover from it was watch the next one and hope for a more uplifting ending on that one.
  11. For flying fuck's sake, she's talking about episodes of Shippuden that haven't aired on Toonami yet, not episodes of the franchise that have already been broadcast! And you wonder why we make fun of you...
  12. I doubt they'll bring back One Piece, consuming they dropped it due to FUNi wanting to charge more for it, but if that only applies to Sabaody on, I wouldn't mind a late-hours replay from the very beginning.
  13. [tries hardest to resist punching Elfie] I'm confident the Food Wars S2 finale is just being postponed until after the DBZ Kai marathon. You can't trust speculation, no matter how much the general atmosphere influences you into believing whatever batshit theories you or others come up with.
  14. Mobile Suit Gundam 2
  15. Nobody: Elfie: Gee, isn't thing of various level of inconvenience just HORRIBLE? 😭 Me:
  16. Ironically, it's attitudes like this that make me try to avoid watching things hyped out the wazoo on my own. Not to say I dislike MHA, but I'd definitely be less hype about it were it not airing on Toonami.
  17. It's official, you're beyond legally blind.
  18. How exactly does it look "barf" like Knights of Sidonia? It doesn't look like Polygon Pictures is animating it. Unless it's that "business class" shit ain't your style... 😏
  19. I don't know why I get mad at Demarco not putting the shows I want Toonami to air on Toonami, when I'm perfectly content just watching whatever I feel on my own time. What I feel, naturally, being stuff normal people wouldn't watch on their own time; i.e. Qwaser, AWOL.
  20. Mobile Suit Gundam 1 Yes, the original.
  21. The Qwaser of Stigmata 3 You didn't even need to look at the credits to tell this was outsourced to Hoods' parent studio GONZO. Some of the cut-specific character designs looked like they'd fit right in with the Tower of Druaga anime.
  22. AWOL: Absent WithOut Leave 3
  23. Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! 12 Absolutely amazing. Yuasa is truly the best niche animator out there in the industry. 10/10.
  24. As to be expected from our other resident pessimist.
