    Black Clover is real soiler. Between it soiling the sheets, playoff football, and every single anime fan watching Devilman Crybaby on Netflix, it was a bad time.

    Devilman Crybaby 9-10. Welp, that was a thing. Brilliant and horrible all at once. Watch it, but prepare for one hell of a gut punch.

    There’s a 70’s TV show that’s only really the base concept, two OVA’s, neither of which adapted the actual ending, and a crossover with Cyborg 009. This is the first 1:1 adaptation of the manga, with elements updated for the modern day.

    This also isn’t the first time this has happened. Remember when they wanted to air The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, BS&P said “lolnope” and they got stuck airing Champloo? Meanwhile Netflix is airing Devilman Crybaby where whoever was animating it wanted to go full hentai at points.

    That’s certainly the right way to describe Dandy. An experience. A very experimental show, which is probably why only half of the episodes really work.

    Strike was destined to fail. Money on top of your service fee always does. But if it’s free alongside Tick episodes, that’s a challenge.

    Anime Strike, Amazon’s exclusive anime Service, has been rolled into Amazon Prime proper. Meaning another opponent for Toonami snapping up exclusives.

    It is, but Guilty Gear (where it was debuted) won’t get the casuals in the way DBZ does. It’s sort of ingrained into athlete culture as something silly that nevertheless inspired a LOT of kids to work out.

    Lol. By 2023 I half expect Netflix or Amazon Prime to have exclusive rights to the NBA, to say nothing of the metric fucktons of anime all the big streamers seem to want to create.

    Makes sense. I know it’s the usual quality FUNi Dub with literal translations and Japanese names, but they’re still using the title of the American adaptation from the 70’s. That had to be part of the contract from whoever they subleased it from.

    Well not in the most literal sense, but they technically hired Trigger for that Black Dynamite opening. And everyone was instantly disappointed they weren’t used for the actual show.

    Darling in the Franxx will air as part of the tradition of the Adult Swim/Trigger partnership. Also if Yamato 2199 airs, it will be called Star Blazers, same as the dub.
