My theory has always been that combat sports are way easier to translate than stick and ball sports.

So this is just a one-off, right? Last I checked the duo had hit their stride in advertising (in a good way) which just proved to me they're the comedic equivalent of salt. A little bit is good, too much ruins the flavor. Given that, one off specials is probably the best use of their talents. Any vitriol I had for them was probably because I was getting a ton of salt from an ongoing show they made, which doesn't play to their strengths.

Surprised McGregor lasted as long, but the pacing in MMA and boxing are completely different.

McGregor lasted eight more rounds than I thought, for a neophyte.

They had their chance with Ippo years ago and got Prince of Fucking Tennis. They deserved the low ratings tennis, prissiest of sports, bought.

Netflix is adapting everything the fuck else, they can adapt Exaxxion. At this point it's obvious any Korra vets being the discourse and baggage of that show with them. Get the guy who did most of the heavy lifting for Last Airbender, Aaron Eihaz (sp?) and I dunno, have Masami Obari direct the mecha scenes. There actually will be mecha scenes that way.

Upon retrospect this whole show sucked and Lauren should have adapted an existing series rather than this reboot that desperately wants to be Korra Season 5 bullshit. You know what would have been better? Cannon God Exaxxion.

That never happened. It lasted two weeks, so it may as well never have.

Have I mentioned that Dragonball is genuinely considered popular while Hiatus...isn't? FUNi found a lot of starting NFL players to interview about DB for their Super and Kai disc sets. I have met some genuine badasses that wax nostalgic about the show. It was a thing. The rest of Toonami...not so much.

Remember when GT CALLED OUT EVERYONE on Dragonball abuse? Good times.

We have plenty of heroes from warlike cultures or at least cultures with a love of fighting. Case in point- Thor. Except Thor genuinely is a hero, unlike Goku.

It's basically "48 hours" with Harley and Batman. And Nightwing. And Bruce Timm shipping Nightwing x Harley. Fun but forgettable.

Super takes a sadistic glee in making Goku a complete asshole. Even Dragonball Goku wasn't this bad. He was THE EMBODIMENT OF INNOCENCE! It's why he could ride the Kinto-Un in the story, because it wouldn't allow the impure to ride it!
