Same. Which sucked because the movie was so funny. Don’t forget Season 2, where they got Based Trigger to animate the opening...and nothing else.

My point was that the last time Toonami tried this, at the arguable height of their influence on the anime industry and viewing public, it flopped harder than the Windows Phone. This in turn is reactionary, and using an original IP, so I am skeptical.

I guess they decided to fight fire with fire. With less of a budget and stricter programming standards. Hey everyone! Remember IGPX?

I love FLCL. The original. Watched it in high school. That’s why this sequel is a risk. If it doesn’t live up to the expectations it’s going to make people more mad than if it was an original property . Toonami isn’t Netflix. They can’t invest in tons of shows on the ground level. If FLCL 2: Electric Boogaloo flops Cartoon Network will be loathe to let them try again. See - IGPX.

From what I understand they specifically sought out Japanese studios to cut costs, as opposed to He-Man, which had a very expensive cost because everyone was US Union. Also they did the same thing Transformers did where they got a talented Hollywood get to do a supporting role (In this case Earl Hyman, best know as Grandpa Huxtable on The Cosby Show, before everyone realized what a creep Bill was).

Legion > Gifted. I mean, I hear Gifted is fine, but Legion is...wow.
