Dorohedoro 3-10. Haven’t ran through a show this fast in a while.

MAPPA’s most recent work was Dorohedoro and that was pretty good.

Yeah, it’s Freddie Mercury. It’s a Netflix exclusive so no idea when we’ll see it though.

Normally I’d say yes but we’re about to find out who plays live action Luffy in two weeks.

No one’s mentioned City Hunter yet? Come on, it has Jackie Chan. That automatically makes it better than a lot of the vomit trying to adapt anime.

That would be funny, but they blatantly asked for Asian actors to play the leads. You know, despite Naruto being a blonde white kid. The last live action anime adaptation to specifically promise Asian leads was Sword Art Online and that appears to be stuck in Development Hell.

I think it’s because they have to wait for rights on a lot of stuff licensed to other services to expire before they can add it. If I didn’t get it for free because of my phone plan, I would have held off. As it stands, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is on, so “Yo Holmes, to Bel-Air!”

How limited? Rick and Morty, Space Ghost, Aqua Teen, Samurai Jack, but no stuff like Moral Orel.

More specifically, they’re already investing their anime money in Crunchyroll. Toonami feels like a third wheel. This is admittedly why I worry that the higher ups may make Toonami an extension of CR.

The situation is literally unprecedented. Most of these studios, if all goes well, should be back to work by July, since that’s the best case scenario to reopen and put in proper tools and protocols for social distancing. The problem is of course, filling the time with Toonami’s cut budget. That means older shows since asking Crunchyroll for stuff is right out as per DeMarco. They also can’t upheave the production process like Netflix does and go “Well, we want someone to make a Gigant anime.” (Not to mention Gigant wouldn’t get past standards anyway). Expect to see the old standbys and maybe older stuff like PA.

People expected Game of Thrones and got Hercules The Legendary Journeys. Which...Eh, that was a fun show.

Come on, you don’t want to see people discuss One Piece at work like The Witcher? Also that article claims we should know the cast around June. We should have known earlier but COVID-19. They used the time to do more pre-production and set construction.

That’s correct. The general vibe is they’re putting it on HBO MAX.

A man who had a positive influence on people died. I don’t want to speculate why, but it’s to be mourned. He clearly had a positive influence on a lot of people, be it enjoying his writing or his podcasts. His life should be celebrated, his death seen as a tragedy.

A lot of people were very upset at Netflix cancelling the show, so this certainly wins some goodwill in the ongoing content war.

No clue if FUNi will be back to their offices by then, but it would be an ideal Toonami show.
