  1. Martin Scorsese is a producer and Robert DeNiro is in it. I’m more interested than I would be in say, Sanic.
  2. Considering his love of Bebop...you sure?
  3. We have a cast list, with John Cho as Spike. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/john-cho-star-netflixs-cowboy-bebop-1199457 When asked for comment, Jason DeMarco presumably just went “Fuck Netflix” 50 times.
  4. Not an official one. Those were third party machines from AT Games and were kinda shoddy as a result. Sega is making this in house. Just put Truxton on it and we’ll call it even.
  5. I just know how this ends. And the answer is “Not well.”
  6. DeMarco is editing it harder? This will just drive people to places where it won’t be edited. Can’t he see that?
  7. Ah yes, Beware the Batfleck. At least this isn’t Y7. But yeah, that’s what I meant. Golden Wind probably won’t air unless it is to spite Netflix. And JoJo, despite its meme status, has never been huge for Toonami. If it suddenly does for Netflix, that is rather damning.
  8. All that being said, I’m gonna laugh so hard if JoJo gets booted off Toonami...and Stardust Crusaders becomes a massive hit for Netflix aka Orange is the New Black or something. DeMarco might finally have that nervous breakdown.
  9. Actually wouldn’t be the first time Leo was attached to an anime adaptation that went nowhere. He actually turned down Episode VII in favor of signing on as Roy Fokker in a Robotech movie. Since those rights are a completely dumpster fire that will only be resolved when Harmony Gold loses the rights in 2021, the movie never got made. https://geektyrant.com/news/2013/7/24/leonardo-dicaprio-turns-down-star-wars-for-robotech Disclaimer - I like Leonardo DiCaprio as an actor and thought Revenant was a work of art.
  10. https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2019/04/02/live-action-akira-to-shoot-in-california-leonardo-dicaprio-producing?utm_source=community_cr&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=news&referrer=community_cr_twitter_news Insert bear joke from The Revenant here.
  11. They listed it on their front page as a trending show and it’s getting a metric ton of social media traffic. When it’s in the Top Viewed section next to freaking INFINITY WAR, something is up.
  12. I’ll sit here and hope Stardust Crusaders hits Netflix next month. They have a bonafide hit and I would hate stupid Toonami contracts to stall the momentum.
  13. It’s easy enough to blame the fact that Hulu and the other streaming services are far ahead of Toonami’s episode count, but I still have no explanation for how Season 1 of JoJo on Netflix is apparently trending higher than a lot of their live action originals. On Demand continues to encroach on Toonami’s shit.
  14. Yeah except Outlaw Star might actually be successful.
  15. Please. Wulin Warriors. I still remember...the puppets. And Outlaw Star? Seriously? I still keep worrying Hulu or Amazon Prime is going to make a live action version.
  16. Fits with DeMarco’s stated “boutique” philosophy as opposed to Gridman or Goblin Slayer.
  17. Good luck with all the sublicensens. It’s pretty much a Gordian’s knot of property rights to untangle. Who even has the US rights to Magic Knight Rayearth? Last I checked it’s still up dubbed on the Media Blasters YT channel, and I thought that they ceased operations.
  18. Just for fun, video of the attack animations. Naturally the theme music used is “Tank!” in game.
  19. Shield Hero is pretty popular last I checked. I could see them airing it because of that.
  20. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-03-24/megazone-23-reboot-project-only-remakes-part-i-and-ii/.144973 Sell it to Netflix. They’ll buy it. They’ll buy damn near anything.
  21. 1. Being reminded of Outlaw Star just makes me think someone is ready to sell a script for a live action series to Hulu or Amazon. Don’t let Titans Starfire play Aisha is all I’m saying. 2. DeMarco seems to be fairly comfortable with the block now even if it sort of a broadcast arm of Crunchyroll. They seem to have a lot of plans for the future, even while acknowledging Netflix making...everything.
  22. Magic Knight Rayearth 7-8. I’m telling you, Netflix is probably getting their usual suitcase of money to give to CLAMP for a remake.
  23. It drops 6/21/2019. No samples of the new dub as of yet. I still say if they got $100 million for Friends, they should at least loan the cast out for the dub. Not like Ross is doing a lot these days...
