    Why doesn’t Toonami get more fan service centric shows, when their parent company has pushed the living hell out of two of them via Crunchyroll? Why did we get gen:Lock instead of Gridman? Why Food Wars? Just...why Food Wars? Why get a two year old OVA only to stick it at 3am where it still does better than Boruto? Because Jason DeMarco is running the block and it’s his taste, not yours.

    Bandai just opened a new Gunpla factory for increased demand and their new smartphone game beat its pre-order estimates. Not to mention Gundam shows get advertised quite a bit on Netflix and Hulu. The problem here is Rooster Teeth. No one likes how their stuff looks, and they have all these celebrities and not ONE is going on Twitter and actually advertising the goddamn show! What is the point of all that talent if you give them shitty animation and no promotion?!

    I again point to how well Gundam has been doing in streaming. Let’s be brutally honest, would RWBY have done any better?

    That’s because the last few Gundam shows they’ve aired were Netflix staples, frequently listed as among the top watched. They just released a mobile game that easily beat all its pre-registration goals. And of course, these reruns still beat a few shows before them. Lupin...unfortunately yeah, that is true.

    Most of the shows aren’t bad, just old. MHA is out of date thanks to streaming, same with The Origin. It’s only Food Wars and this that are missteps on the content front.

    I would pay good money for a Crossbone Gundam anime. Do not make me want things I can’t have. Next you’re gonna suggest Netflix cancels The Dragon Prince and commissions a Dirty Pair reboot.

    Despite my love of mecha, if they wanted a 3D animated show...they should have gotten Kengan Ashura before Netflix did.

    It has a ways to go before being in the same category as Wulin. That said, Food Wars fails at ratings, so switch it and Origin.

    DeMarco’s budget for Toonami barely covers lunches off the Dollar Menu. Put simply, they cannot afford to get any of the actors from gen:Lock in the studio. If they could, don’t you think we’d already have David Tenant singing its praises?

    The rumor is the movie will be a loose adaptation of The Origin (given that the writer was tested on the references in Gundam Narrative). They may want to avoid competition with themselves.

    The Origin anime is an adaptation of several prequels and side stories from the manga. The manga proper is a wholesale remake of the original series, starting from the attack on Side 7 to the end of the One Year War.

    If Toonami had money for originals (which probably won’t be a thing save some very short series especially given the epic belly flop that was DeMarco’s FLCL fanfics) commissioning a full anime adaptation of Gundam: The Origin manga proper, and advertising it as “Only Toonami” as hype for the movie ramps up would = Ratings. That of course is in a scenario where everyone isn’t trying to get their own stuff off the ground in streaming and the Toonami budget can buy mores than a 2 piece meal at Popeye’s.

    I liked the first two episodes I saw on demand...but it’s up against the post Ep 3 edits, and there’s a UFC on tonight. Tough room.

    Netflix Baki 17. This was amazing and it caused me to burst out loud laughing on the treadmill. Fuck Tuca and Bertie, give Baki and stuff like it all the renewals.
