Paprika was originally a book, but on the other hand, Birds of Prey was a flop.

Depends on what the “outdoor” is. I’ve gotten into bike rides when it’s nice out, and I like hanging out by the beach and the pool, especially in the era of wi-fi and tablets. But rain and the like? I’ll pass.

Nearly 30 years later, the American Sailor Moon pilot has been found
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Anime & Manga
As a stand-alone product, it is hilariously wretched. It is everything wrong with not only American animation during the 90s, but female action cartoons since forever. Ami in the wheelchair, making Makoto a black girl just to try and follow Power Rangers' model. But as a time capsule of the early 90s, it is hilariously brilliant. To think, when this was produced, American animation producers decried Japanese productions as low budget and poorly executed. The people who pitched this, TO THIS DAY, believe that this version of Moon would have been infinitely more successful than the original. So as a historical time capsule of the 90s, it's ironically brilliant. All that was missing was the inevitable replacing of Usagi's wand with a gigantic cannon straight out of a Rob Liefeld comic. -
Battles are won by territory claimed, not death. Then again, I feel people want to communicate the human cost to make people reluctant to fight. Case in point, Russia is apparently having issues recruiting, raising the specter of either withdrawal or a draft. https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2022/08/21/7364213/

Vic Mignogna loses his defamation trial appeal
Jman replied to matrixman124's topic in Anime & Manga
Now his actions are even further etched in stone. Can we put this guy to rest now? His career by all reasonable accounts is over and we should start acting like it is. -
HBO Max purges a ton of animation from its service

When cancellation isn’t enough, purge any and all evidence of the show’s existence. -
Netflix to release Tekken: Bloodline, an anime adaptation of Tekken 3
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Anime & Manga
It’s out and it’s 6 episodes long, at least what’s out so far. Now that Netflix has a deal with Tekken, maybe they can get Cobra Kai characters in the next game. Johnny Lawrence in Tekken? -
Tekken Bloodline 1. AOT 79-83.

I fully expect it to be a smoz to build for All Out. AEW isn't afraid of time limit draws. In any event, it's fully anticipated all of these are tax write offs to strengthen the Q3 financial outlook. So, no Six Flags ride for you in Tax Write-Off hell Infinity Train! -
OnePunch-Man Season 3 officially announced (Studio MAPPA got it!)
Jman replied to 3ngag3's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I knew the manga was too popular to leave alone. Hoping for but not expecting Madhouse. -
Meanwhile tonight’s AEW is sponsored by the GOT prequel House of the Dragon.

Yeah, the problem is while most of the country wants peace and co-existence, if the far right keeps shooting, the far left WILL shoot back and we’ll be dealing with the Troubles between the two fringes. Ironically I could see our corporate overlords preaching unity to wipe out both sides in such a situation because at that point the useful idiots will stop being useful, and it will be easier to eradicate them.

Better Call Saul starts its final season tonight
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Movies & Television
That ending was definitely something. Brings it all full circle, and now we’re done. There’s an irony to Saul, or should I say Jimmy’s…actions at the end. -

Tonight’s the final episode - “Saul Gone”, and maybe the last thing ever set in the Breaking Bad universe.
