Y'all hear that we unlocked free unlimited energy?

There’s definitely a lot of ground between Point A and Point B, but the fact Point A exists is still a massive achievement. -

The fact that they successfully performed a fusion reaction that has up until now been theoretical is still a massive leap forward. The people responsible for this are probably all due Nobel prizes. Actually performing the fusion successfully cannot be undersold. -

We have theoretically produced the means to unlock unlimited energy (that is, creating more energy than it causes to make the reaction). We still need to refine the concept by repeating the experiment, downsizing the facility that creates the reaction, and harness it, all of which could take decades. Still, this is very exciting. Unlimited energy, clean energy mind you without pollutants or waste materials, is now no longer a pipe dream. It’s feasible. -
Yeah, but all the good comics have been used. Seriously, we’re scraping the bottom of the barrel over at the House of Ideas (Tomb of Dracula, Werewolf by Night, Ms. Marvel), DC has no clue what it’s doing, and indie comics worth a damn have dried up. The problem is that manga adaptations don’t work nearly as well because they’re much less malleable. So they naturally go for the most obvious Shounen Jump titles with no way to translate that into a visual medium, or change so much the end result is slurry (the script for the LA Gundam from the Paper Girls and Y the Last Man guy is supposed to be complete shit). So be on the look out for Chainsaw Man in 2026 starring that black kid from Cobra Kai as Denji. And it’s directed by Quentin Tarantino. (Actually, Tarantino is the one director I would actually somewhat be morbidly curious with a Chainsaw Man movie).

A defensive missile system is a pretty easy justification. And considering the bombings, they could use it.

I stand by my theory that if Uzumaki blows another deadline Zaslav kills it.

The thing is, even despite what some corners of the internet think about TT Go, Cartoon Network doesn't have a credibility problem. They have a viewership problem. A lot of their shows are award winners, are lauded for their diversity and inclusion, and do well critically. For instance, Craig of the Creek, a show Zaslav canceled and is apparently sending to tax-writeoff hell, has a 100% critic score and 81% audience score with its small, dedicated audience. That means jack shit to Zaslav. If the shows can't perform in the viewership metrics, they're worthless to this guy. So what they need is fresh talent that will make mass market appeal shows, rather than stuff like Owl House which was very niche, very targeted, and great for credibility with critics because diversity. Unfortunately, credibility doesn't pair down the debt. And if you don't have the people who can make mass appeal shows, you need to find them, or provide them ways to enter your company. I don't think we're completely disagreeing, because the core point is Cartoon Network needs fresh creators with new ideas. The thing is those ideas are probably going to hem closer to Cow and Chicken than Amphibia.

In news surprising no one, Russia has rejected the most recent call for a troop pullout, saying Ukraine has to deal with it. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/kremlin-says-ukraine-must-accept-realities-there-be-peace-2022-12-13/?utm_source=reddit.com

Bullet Train - 7.5/10. Stock story, good twist, good actors. The definition of “Film I wouldn’t buy a ticket to but would watch when it’s on a streaming service.”
