  1. Started reading the comic for research. You will never want to eat sushi again for fear the sushi chef will kill you, because you broke Rule #208 of proper sushi etiquette. You probably won’t want to keep reading the comic either. Edit - That was actually a pretty short comic. I can’t see the series being more than 10 episodes ala Unicorn and that’s probably liberally using flashbacks to Blood and Sushi. Bourdain was clearly reveling in a power fantasy where he gets to kill rude customers in a setting where asking for a California roll is a justifiable homicide. Not sure how it will fly in a post-Menu world. But like I said, you will NEVER want sushi again because that chef will gut you like a fish (pun not intended) for breaking a sushi etiquette rule.
  2. Blu-Ray and Digital August 22. Max probably around the holidays. Adult Swim proper? 2024 I guess.
  3. Yeah, that is a bit too much for me. It’s insanely stupid, sweeping this year’s Darwin Awards, but wanting people to die? What did they do to you personally besides have horrible taste in recreational activities? The OWNERS meanwhile, if there’s a law that can prosecute them for gross negligence, let them have it.
  4. Y’all better hope the Superman brand brings in people because this is some harsh ratings buzz for a block that’s already hurting something fierce in a way not seen since the Moribito and Kekkaishi days. This wouldn’t even be Toonami’s fault necessarily, except it’s the same weekend the Black Clover movie was the second most streamed movie in the entire world (although some might say that supports the theory that Planet Earth needs better taste). That’s damning.
  5. Witch from Mercury 22 Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village 4 Hell’s Paradise 9 And finished Ultraman Final.
  6. Well it’s not full anime. The ending will likely be just a black screen and credits. Not like it will have the cast dancing.
  7. No, it’s the initial recruitment, Barate, Arlong, and Lougetown which make up the entirety of the East Blue arc. Also each episode is an hour long.
  8. https://twitter.com/op_netflix_fan/status/1670889278937657381?s=46&t=qkEIjJHbOepJnnU58px_yQ S1 will apparently end at Arlong, so hopefully Lougetown recasts Alvida.
  9. Since DeMarco won’t promote…anything anymore (this is why I laughed when he said he would have made Witch from Mercury a big deal) it falls to Jack Quaid, who actually has trade paper cred due to his role as Hughie in The Boys. So here he is, using an interview about The Boys to promote the show.
  10. I’m pretty sure they mean animated movie because a live action Chainsaw Man would demand Tarantino direct it, and he’s retiring.
  11. CNN confirmed it during a prior interview with the submersible operator.
  12. Tim’s an interesting cat. His ad campaigns are bonafide hits (he’s responsible for those Terry Crews Old Spice ads) but Tom was a SLOG with occasional flashes of brilliance that made the slog hurt more. Moonbase 8 was also pretty good and he did give us Steve Brule. I dunno, if you have nothing else to do that night, it might be worth it.
  13. My original plan was to have white wine pasta and salmon, but I noticed my potatoes were starting to spud, so I air fried them with duck fat and had them with salad and a ribeye. And some red wine. This song sums up my dinner dilemma -
  14. Anyway, it looks like the movie is a bonafide hit, with it today only being behind the Extraction movies as the most popular Netflix movie in the entire world. Think about that for a minute as you lament Toonami's state. Black Clover was always a bit of a punching bag for the block, but holy hell, these numbers are insane.
  15. I've said it before, they had no competition so they saw fit to act however they wanted with the material. And the past few years it's come back to bite them in the ass something fierce. No one wants to work with them anymore so we have to dig up an Anthony Bourdain vanity project and other Max sloppy seconds for Toonami. Witch from Mercury would have been nice, especially with it apparently rocketing Bandai to record profits for the Gundam franchise.
  16. The Flash - 6/10 Weird. From top to bottom that movie was WEIRD with a capital W. It’s essentially Warner going “blow it all up and let God sort it out” with their extended universe while having old serious Barry and Young Barry who I swear is just Ezra Miller trying to channel Dana Carvey’s Garth. I actually feel like it’s another one of those meta textual movies with its moral being to let go of the SnyderVerse, but it is a weird path getting there.
  17. Any weight loss regiment is a slow and steady process. Still, sounds like you’re off to a good start.
  18. The Black Clover movie is the 2nd most popular film on Netflix in the country, only behind the Chris Hemsworth vehicle Extraction 2. This pretty much seems to be leaning towards more of the anime being made, as well as Netflix taking it from Toonami.
  19. Netflix isn’t a studio, it’s a company buying from studios. The thing is, Tomorrow Studios are the same people who did Bebop. This is why Alice in Bordeland and the Kenshin films were so well liked, and why I have more hope for Yu Yu Hakusho, but it seems they learned something in terms of costuming and tone. Bebop was cringe from bell to bell. This isn’t changed but not straight up cringe.
  20. I like it visually. I don't know about making Luffy from a hyperactive five year old into a 12 year old whose entire idea of being a badass is imitating the MCU, but it's one of those minor changes I can live with.
  21. Here it is, kids! August 31, 2023 premiere date, and now Luffy has a Mexican accent. Buckle up because everyone, and I mean EVERYONE will have an opinion for one of the most expensive shows ever filmed.
  22. I spend so much time practicing grappling and jiu jitsu, but I hate bringing it up in too much detail because I’m worried I’ll come off like an Internet Tough Guytm. Jiu jitsu doesn’t make me think I’m a badass, it makes me mellow as shit. But I can’t really share that outside of the people at my gym without feeling like a braggart and a jerk.
  23. Yes but the late Anthony Bourdain gives this project some credibility. The spigot remains thoroughly, THOROUGHLY cut off so Zaslav has to make more local cartoons.
