Ok this episode is probably my least favorite, it really sucks.

Never take anything said in DBZ seriously, between bad translations and retconning it's anyone's guess usually. In this case the official line is..... "Similarly to his fight with Vegeta, Goku could not defeat Frieza even with his Kaio-ken's power increased 20 times, so he decided to once again use the Spirit Bomb, raising his hands into the air, with Frieza thinking Goku was giving up. It used to have a 2 time limit. Then they removed that limit. Also 6 year old Goku was immune to getting shot in the head. Why would a bullet work on an adult Goku that's a billion times more powerful? Also the person who thought up the bullet idea was BULMA. Guess who shot Goku in the head the first time they met in the first episode of Dragonball? BULMA! It's just bad in every possible way. it is mentioned by Piccolo that a person can only spend 48 hours in real life time inside the Time Chamber,[1] and by Goku during the Fusion Saga of Dragon Ball Z that a person can only enter the chamber twice in a lifetime. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber has been reconstructed by Dende. This new room can be used for at least three days of real time at once (three years within the room). The room likely lacks the weakness of the old chamber in having a destructible door, as Goku states, "No matter how far we take things here, we don't have to worry about destroying anything."[2] The two-time limit that a person can enter the Time Chamber has also been removed

Remember, it's already been proven that a Kai marathon on a holiday can beat the regular schedule on a non holiday. Which means marathons because you're afraid of low ratings on holidays are pointless.

I liked the new Thundercat show as well. Nostalgia aside, it was a much better more well thought out show than the original. The original had Lion O losing the sword of omens literally every other episode as the plot device. Then he'd grab it and win. That was literally half the episodes and there were a LOT of episodes.

Even if you miss the first 100 episodes of Super you really didn't miss much.

6 specials and one Full length prequel episode called Road to Hero.

Did they release an early episode preview or something? As far as I know the episode isn't out yet. Ok yeah I just saw, they did. I'm gonna stay for the underage lesbianism. It needs to go full hentai in order to save the show at this point. So another slice of life episode leaving.... 6 episodes to wrap everything up? Uhhhhh...... no way are they not banking on a second season for this. This anime is the poster child for squandering hype and potential.

Yes but I think this is where Toonami needs to find a beneficial relationship. Funimation has Crunchyroll and VRV. Toonami should cuddle up to someone, maybe Sentai or Aniplex? Work out a deal, even if it's just a deal to show their old hits at low/no cost. I think Crunchy has Mob Psycho and Made in Abyss as well. They've got some good stuff.

Yes but that brings us to Toonami's main problem, the inability to get the current hits until years later.

They're not really similar except in terms of popularity. You should be comparing MHA and BC. MHA is more like the Avengers and BC is more like... that last Fantastic Four movie.

To make it funnier, they interviewed Steve Blum for their DVD Bang Zoom! Entertainment released a series of interviews with "close to 100 [voice] actors, producers, and casting directors" on DVD, titled Adventures in Voice Acting: Anime, Games and Animation. Many of the interviews took place on set and in their respective studios. The trailer announced many of the voice actors that would appear on the DVD, including Steven Blum, Wendee Lee, Tom Kenny and many others.

Or maybe.... it should stay open! And then people that don't like talking about ratings don't come in the ratings thread and complain that people are talking about ratings. It seems crazy but I think that could work out for everyone.

Well we've been over this a few times in the ol ratings thread... but Toonami ratings don't matter due to Cartoon Network having incredibly low ratings overall. Toonami will continue existing with ratings this low, yes. But still it's disappointing after 88 percent retention for MHA last week to see it back down to what every other show does after Kai. Kai only retaining 78 percent followed by MHA doing 78 percent is pretty bad. Obviously we hoped it would do better. It's got a lot working against it though. Worst spot on the schedule, almost no advertising, and it's 2 years old. I've already seen it subbed and dubbed, so this is going to be my third watch.

Time for some quality ecchi!
