rants Haters/Complainers: Legacy of Spleen
katt_goddess replied to mthor's topic in General Discussion
I hate visitors and I hate vacuuming. Damn vacuum decided to go on permanent strike halfway through the living room. I have an insurance idiot coming by tomorrow to do the usual "this is your policy that we never want to do anything with anyway, can I get you to take on additional policies that we will never pay up on?" 10 year visit. Enjoy the kitty sands, bitchcakes had a tantrum and they are not going anywhere until I can and I can't because I have to be home for your stupid visit. -
I still don't like spam. But I'm saddened that there will never be another chance to hear the menu read live again. Pick the comfiest chair, Mr. Jones, and put your feet up. You deserve it.

Yes and no. While I did consider light spectra analysis [ at least from the human side of current knowledge ] , there are for us still elements that tend to 'share' the same wavelength. We aren't as fine tuned in things as we'd need to be in order to travel safely somewhere else. I'm not going to assume that another civilization would be stuck on the exact same problem but it is still a problem. It would be like 'knowing' a place is rich in oxygen and going there only to find out it's liquid oxygen that's perpetually on fire or something. <--- weird and stupid example but it's just an example.

Coca-Cola reveals new ice cream-inspired Vanilla Float flavor
katt_goddess replied to helpme's topic in Foods & Drinks
Meh, Vanilla Coke isn't really my favorite but I think it depends on what 'type' . The one in the bottle doesn't do much for me but I once had a live mixed version at a soda shoppe. That was good. Maybe it they just had a better handle on how much syrup to actually use to get that particular blending whereas the already bottled flavor is preset and that's it. -
To think that humans are the only possible life in the entirety of this universe is ridiculous. This isn't the only planet that falls within what is considered the habitable zone, new potentials are discovered all the time as our ability to scan and interpret the data received gets better. And that's just zones suitable for carbon-based lifeforms. When you consider that we have organisms that thrive in volcanic vents and gross spiders in Antarctica, things get a little more exciting. Actually visiting here is suspect though. This solar system isn't on the galactic plane [ we are slightly above the plane and at an angle ] and we aren't part of the nearest spiral. We are also surrounded by an Oort cloud which I sometimes wonder if it doesn't insulate some of our radio waves from traveling outwards. So traveling here would be a pain in the ass and entirely out of the way of any potential routes. To get here, they'd have to bring their own fuel to make the round trip because they wouldn't know if there was anything here that would work as fuel for the trip back. It's basically the same problem we have just sending anyone to Mars - it's a 2 year trip there with no gas stations along the way. Our only bonus in that is that we know most of the composition of Mars at least. An outer system visitor wouldn't know for sure what they might be able to use here. Summary - Earth is the Deliverance of planets and no one really would visit here willingly.

I DON'T LIKE SPAM! And scrapple looks like meat-vomit. Fun fact, I watched Flying Circus when I was like 5 because my mom thought everything on PBS was educational. Yeah...

Are you sure it was for spamming and not those damn nudes of you covered in spam?

The drifts from last night covered the building's doors this morning. I had to shovel a trench-tunnel to open the door to get out for work and when I got home, I had to squirrel my way in through another door and then shovel that one. The wind is a bitter bitch. It took 2 hours to walk home in the storm today and I had to dodge traffic on the streets because those were the only places where the drifts didn't constantly reach my tits. In honor of all this - behold a few 'how shitty is ND in winter?' memes!

I have never been more pissed to be allergic to alcohol in my life... Related, now I wish I had grabbed a Mountain Dew at the store to have the worst mock baby yodarita ever.

Fresh water constantly. Possible mushy food because kitty might not be able to smell food as clearly - making them less likely to eat - so smelly wet stuff helps both on the fooding front and the hydration front. Warm place to sleep. Extra cuddles if they are the cuddling type because then they'll also purr which soothes the kitty.

Back in like 2007 I think. Missed a full week of work and found out that people were planning my funeral because I never miss work. I missed more work from the flu than I have for infarcts. Yep, flu worst than a bad heart. Get better, dude.

The first thing that came to mind seeing that was 'Never eat cereal at that place' .

Well I wasn't until this thread. But not so much the drinking of the sauces. Just a pizza with dipping sauce in general. And that damn banana pepper. Those two things are the only reasons to bother with Papa Johns at all.

In a general defense of this, no one wants to see their friends' project fail or their friends be unemployed because of a project failing. Even chibi-fail animation with a script that was already basically written ~30 years ago still takes time and energy. That's time and energy that has no returns unless the project succeeds. When in the midst of a project, having cheerleaders on your side can be the little boost you need to keep going. I can't fault the cheerleaders wanting to be cheerleaders even if I question their public rational [ is it so wrong to just say you want your friend to succeed instead of making up something stupid like 'this is the show I would have wanted to watch rather than the original version that I hate...because it turns out I was only 3 at the time it was on' ? Like people aren't going to find out about that ] . As for the angling angle, that's why I hate the whole idea of 'networking' - it's not enough to have talent for a job, you are expected to coat-tail ride on someone else just to get a chance at all. -.-;

WE'RE BEING RAIDED!!!!!
katt_goddess replied to SwimModSponges's topic in UEMB.com Community Discussion
They already know where I am. The Ancient Armies of Ye Old Incoherent Babbling are allowed and encouraged to actually register. There's only a few people that aren't welcome around here and quite frankly, old IB would approve of the improvement. -
rants Haters/Complainers: Legacy of Spleen

Why do I have to upgrade my cell phone that totally does what I need it to do - be a phone - just because you think it's too old to bother keeping as part of your service plan thingie anymore? My little cell phone does phone things. It connects to everything without issues, sends and receives calls and texts just fine. It's a basic little dumper phone and it's been quite happy for the 7 years I've had it. And now it's on the kill list because it's not compatible with all the blue-tooth / WiFi / technocolor shit that's now considered 'normal' and I have to deal with getting everything transferred to a new phone that your service will accept. Well screw you too, butt-holes. I went from this to this Funk you, forced upgrade. I do my own thing. -
You'd think we wouldn't need these sorts of signs but yes, yes we do. People are stupid.

I was wondering about that since it looks like the shelves are open from one end to the other without any reinforcing breaks which on a long shelf would definitely bow. I was also wondering if you had to mount it to the wall to keep it steady. If I could have bookcases like that, this place would be wall-to-wall.
