  1. All of that sounds good to me. I'd rather catch up on all the iconic anime I haven't seen through the years... a different approach, but it should still be fun. The iDOLM@STER Episode 13: "And the Girls Head Toward the Shining Stage"
  2. That is not what he was talking about, because quality is not linear with overall popularity. Of course, the entire topic is subjective anyway. Also, was Gundam even that big at its absolute peak? I guess Wing was popular when it aired, but has become more of a cult show in today's climate. Then you have G Gundam, which I occasionally see people waxing lyrical about, but isn't really in the same class as most stuff in the franchise.
  3. Why? I think JoJo's is still doing fine. Part 3 will be aired to its conclusion and they'll probably pick up Diamond is Unbreakable before the year ends, if not in the first quarter of 2019. However, considering that David Production is working on a Captain Tsubasa anime and it's apparently going to last quite a while, there is a pretty good chance there might not be more JJBA anime when they finish Part 4. But the franchise is still very profitable and could have more greenlit at any time, so [as] shouldn't need to do anything about it.
  4. Pop Team Epic #1 Love Live! The School Idol Movie
  5. Yeah, you're not wrong. Between the new Devilman show and Pop Team Epic (now streaming on VRV!), there was an absolute tidal wave of publicity for... any anime not on Toonami. And the Dandy announcement didn't help this at all. I also saw Cristina Vee talk about being in the dub for it, so Al is wrong on that front.
  6. Black Clover ruins everything... and yet we'll probably see another expansion this year.
  7. Hey... just so we're clear on this, will the deadline to submit pass when the 10th is fully over with? As in, at midnight (E/P)ST? That is usually the case, but I just want to make sure.
  8. Yeah, that would be perfectly characteristic of the stream. They've already confused Season 1 of Gundam: IBO with Unicorn on the delayed block before. And yet people think there should be a full-fledged Toonami streaming service, even one you can pay for! Aside from that being 100% against the Toonami brand and what it's about, how can you expect them to do a good job of it when there are constant mistakes on the existing weekly stream?
  9. I'm still confused over that one... did they not realize it had lots of nipples? That should be required to come first when inspecting a show for air. Or maybe they did, and thought all of them could be blurred out, but S&P didn't want to be subjected to that torture?
  10. Even if I do wish they would add a dedicated button for spoilers, it's at least easy to learn.
  11. I'll probably try to watch more of the block this week... regardless of when. For one, I'm now fully caught up on Cowboy Bebop (thank you, inexplicable marathon), so I can watch that through DVR recordings as well.
  12. Oh hey, the schedule got fixed. We were somehow convinced DeMarco would screw things up again.
  13. Made in Abyss #5 and #6 Recovery of an MMO Junkie #1 [neurosurgeons scream for more]
  14. Some interesting information to consider: This was apparently a last-minute change, as "unforeseen events" delayed an intended premiere. Let the rumor mill go to work on that one.
  15. You say this as if it's guaranteed they'll keep acquiring new anime.
  16. So this means I stated paying for it three days before it shut down. Here's hoping a refund on the $5 comes quickly. But yeah, this is great news. Here's hoping Made in Abyss gets even more fucknuts popular under a single paywall.
  17. Wait, so if I delete a post, the total doesn't go down anymore? That was seemingly the standard for as long as the new boards have been up. Why did it change?
  18. That logic could just as easily be used to explain why there should be more marathons in the first few months. Hell, Easter falls on April Fool's this year, and that they don't do a marathon for that is just as irrational as having Halloween marathons, at least in my eyes I have no idea what they'll do for either event. While I do expect at least an on-air acknowledgement of the anniversary, the ideal way to celebrate it would be to air a movie, but that's very much in the realm of... not going to happen. But if they air a marathon, a lot of viewers would see it as punishment for something and not watch at all. Therefore, it'll probably be better to play the normal lineup.
  19. The Ancient Magus' Bride #9 The iDOLM@STER #13
  20. Here's me doing an early post. The reason why will be obvious if you open the spoiler. The iDOLM@STER Episode 12: "One-way Road to the Goal"
  21. I watched the original first episode legally (before it got banned, and long before the rest of the show), and I thought it was the best thing ever. I still kind of do... it helped that they stuck to what was extremely popular at the time (Attack on Titan, Love Live!) so it wouldn't seem as dated later on. Made in Abyss #4
  22. Only 15 replies? Wow... the typical Shippuden thread has twice as many. I gave myself a week off from this shit, though I'll probably return to it next week for JoJo's.
  23. Wow, that's pretty exhaustive... and was probably exhausting to compile. I see no reason to document what I watch in that depth, but I can't blame anyone else for doing so. Also, seeing all of those different shows and episode titles may have given me anxiety.
  24. How very Neil deGrasse Tyson of you.
