  1. It was an anti-war song, during the time of the Cold War Era.
  2. It was pretty much like that most of this summer on our end, too. Then, the thunderstorms and flash floods had to make up for lost time.
  3. It's been storming so much these last few months, I'm surprised that any of our plants survived. We're currently under another Flash Flood Watch until tomorrow afternoon. Before I could dump the last of our trash and recycling this morning, I got soaked on the porch. It was ridiculous. My socks, shoes, and even the butt cheek part of my pants got wet. Mind you, I was wearing hooded windbreaker jacket.
  4. Almost everyday on my local news, something is being recalled ranging from food to toys. It's like damn. Kinda makes you feel scared to breathe.
  5. Earlier today, they were talking about Takis, Doritos Dynamitas, and Flamin' Hot Fries and Cheetos on Dr. Oz. They claimed that they can cause ulcers. Not that anyone really should have to say it, but they should be eaten in MODERATION. That's just common sense. Then again, it doesn't seem like most people today have common sense or self-control. The Dynamitas are without a doubt very addicting but we still have to exercise self-control. It has actually been a while, since I last bought any. I need to have those handy the next time my sinuses start acting up again.
  6. Happy Birthday! Hopefully, you enjoyed your day and will enjoy your birthday weekend!
  7. Is anyone here still trying to decide, which genres and/sub-genres your stories would be labeled? It has already been said, that Horror and Thriller can cross genres. As of right now, I'm starting to think that mine would most likely be labeled as Psychological Thriller. With that being said, I feel that my work could be published in anthologies for both Horror and Thriller, in the future. This has actually become my latest goal.
  8. Oh okay, that sounds like it would be really interesting.
  9. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to share an excerpt of the story I previously mentioned. According to the writing agency I talked to earlier, posting an excerpt of it for public viewing would be considered "previously published work." It's amazing how posting an excerpt for public viewing would be labeled "previously published work." It's not like the entire story would've been published. Supposedly, literary agents and book publishers don't want to fight over rights to an author's work. It's mostly a copyright issue than anything. Luckily, I am able to keep the excerpts of my stories locked on my website's Horror/Thriller page for members to view.
  10. I was just watching The Craft, again. Now, I switched to watch Death Becomes Her. Death Becomes Her is actually more of a Dark Humor "chick flick" than anything.
  11. Right now, I'm trying to get a professional 2nd opinion from a writing company about whether to share an excerpt of 1 of my short stories.

Since I write Horror/Psychological Thrillers, it would probably be posted in Horror. If you want, I can PM it to you as a preview, in case you're worried about content.

It is graphically disturbing. However, I feel that it is a short story that will resonate with most women, who have ever been to Gynecology. LOL!

Unfortunately, I am not allowed to share an excerpt.:(

According to the writing agency I talked to, they claimed that it would be considered "previously published work." It's not like I was going to post my entire story, just an excerpt.

Most publishing companies and literary agents don't want to deal with fighting over the rights to an author's work. It's somewhat ridiculous when you really think about it.

  12. It will be hours until I come back online. Right now, I am trying to get a professional 2nd opinion from a writing company about whether or not to share an excerpt of 1 of my short stories to this site. Since I write Horror/Psychological Thrillers, the excerpt I have in mind could possibly be shared in the Horror sub-forum. It is graphically disturbing. The protagonist is a misogynistic gynecologist. He has the personality of Married With Children's Al Bundy combined with American Psycho's Patrick Bateman. Yes, he is just that fucked up. If I do share it, just remember that you have been warned in advance.
  13. I forgot to mention earlier that my current avatar is a picture of Ai Enma from the Shojo Horror Anime, Hell Girl. My username is also in reference to the episode, "Purgatory Girl." "Purgatory Girl" is a Hell Girl episode from Season 1. The episode basically shows the backstory of how Ai Enma became Hell Girl. In case any and/every poster has been wondering about my username, now you know.
  14. A few minutes ago, I just sent a suggestion to Dish Network. I don't know how much control they have over programming, but I suggested that Tales From The Hood be aired on premium channels like Encore and Starz, for example.
  15. Considering that other cable and satellite channels have been airing Horror before this month, you would think they would air Tales From The Hood and some others.
  16. Maybe I should try contacting some of the premium channels and tell them to air Tales From The Hood. I don't know if you have cable or satellite but there is a premium channel on our Dish Network package called Encore Black. It mostly airs syndicated episodes of Classic Black Sitcoms and some movies.
  17. Too bad they don't air Tales From The Hood more often on TV. I haven't seen it in years.
  18. Since I already write Horror and Psychological Thrillers and happen to be a fan both genres and sub-genres, it has already been done months ago.
  19. Not that I speak Portuguese, but watching Sepultura's music video for their song, "Ratamahatta" is creepy. Supposedly, the song tells the stories of people such as Ze Do Caixao (Coffin Joe) and Lampiao.
