I love all birds, but this was a damned cool thing to see.

Across the lawn of a catholic church this last sunday, up into a tree branch overhanging the sidewalk that I was traveling on my way to work. First I saw the mess of white that would soon be known to me as feathers. Saw the brown figure. Wondered, is that an animal? Wondered, closer, is that bird real? It turned its head, took flight, and watched me as I passed. That's when I saw the limp grey-white wings. I could not maintain eye contact. I could only think of the talons that killed the pigeon. What I expected to be an omen of some sort (Sunday mornings are the busiest at work) turned out to be just some cool nature shit. The day was great, and slower than usual!

I've worked in a haunted movie theater but never lived in a haunted house. Though my roommates in my res halls room in undergrad have stories about pens flying across the room, and a dark black orb hovering in the corner of the living space at night.

Unfortunately it's a TED talk setup, so I'm addressing the crowd directly (though probably looking above their heads)

I've got 12 days and I already have nearly 400 words down nearly verbatim, which is better than I expected for me doing a monologue. The hardest part is Holden's voice in writing, which is often chalked full of things like "and I guess I sorta," and it slows memorizing the actual content of his lines.

Presenting a TED talk called "One Crumby TED Talk's Not Gonna' Change The Whole Goddamn World For Crying Out Loud" for a one-night theater show in 12 days. I'm thrilled, but as somebody with little stage experience, and never so many lines, I'm also very nervous.
