Nah. It's me being bitter about people not posting in music, or movies, etc etc. We're all at least a little guilty of it

https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/26/entertainment/neil-simon-playwright-dies/index.html Neil Simon, the playwright and screenwriter whose indestructible comedies -- including "The Odd Couple," "Barefoot in the Park," "The Sunshine Boys" and "Brighton Beach Memoirs" -- made him one of the most successful writers in American history, has died. He was 91. The cause of death was complications with pneumonia, according to his publicist, Bill Evans. Simon died around 1 a.m. Sunday at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. A member of the famed "Your Show of Shows" writing staff for Sid Caesar, Simon was an entertainment mainstay for more than six decades. Starting with his first Broadway success, "Come Blow Your Horn" (1961), there was seldom a time when a Neil Simon work couldn't be found on stage or screen (or, occasionally, television). At one point, in the late 1960s, he had four shows on Broadway at once. Even a partial list of his works summons the comic highlights of late 20th-century American theater: "Barefoot in the Park." "The Odd Couple." "Sweet Charity." "Plaza Suite." "The Last of the Red Hot Lovers." "The Prisoner of Second Avenue." "Brighton Beach Memoirs." "Lost in Yonkers." "Laughter on the 23rd Floor." And that's just for starters. Simon wrote more than 3O plays.

Ethan Hawke is a pretentious twat
Bouvre replied to MasqueradeOverture's topic in Movies & Television
As much as I love Ethan Hawke in certain films, Ugh. "It's not Bresson" is the kind of shit that, as a lover of Bresson and Bergman, drives me fucking nuts.- 10 replies

My significant other told me about this place

I feel that. It's why I'm more active here than there, and here isn't even all that much. -

Your SO should've made sure this place was boarded up from the outside. -

Thankfully Disney is the least of my interests. The rest sounds dope.

I never claimed I'd document what's to come. I simply declared more nights similar to this would persist, such as the night in Seattle when some guy in a top hat weaved across the yellow line on a BMX bike in traffic going down a meager incline, hollering OhHoHoooOHo NO BRAKES. I made no promise to tell you about these things and shant promise

I do mean there's no money in writing, generally, but in this case I'm referring to not only being a non-profit, but a non-profit intent on cultivating a community of writers in a small, non-metropolitan area. -

I get more value from any number of federal rolls of pennies lodged up my asshole than I do from any amount of federal rolls of pennies used as currency -

There is no money in writing. Also, there's typically having to pay for withdrawing from a nonprofit, to avoid things like collecting donations and bowing out. -

I run a non profit now. The fallout involves individuals who now resigned. We might be back to square one development wise but my spouse and I already have a plan -

and immediately watched, after being inducted, during the executive meeting, as one higher-up crumbled under the pressure of controversy to resign, and the others expressed apathy toward the whole endeavor, leaving me and my husband the head of said nonprofit group. It was like an Aaron Sorkin film, but more depressing.
