I'm not trying to devalue the validity of your sentiment, but I kinda of think it's steeped in a bit of tunnel vision. What about kids that came up during the civil rights movement...COVID wasn't my first pandemic, it was just the first one that worked because of how easy it was to spread bad information and opinions. Bird flu, swine flu, mad cow, typhoid, AIDS...all of these things would have been far more hectic had the internet been a thing during their time. Some of my friends never came back from Iraq, dark humor as a coping mechanism with gross cynicism isn't new but we can see it in HD, so to speak, because of how far we've come technologically. Just my opinion...
