the answer is that Americans like to appropriate things regardless of whether or not it makes sense either in the context of their own beliefs or in the traditional context of whatever it is they're appropriating my very basic and limited understanding of karma was that it is more about trying to not to create more suffering in the world than anything to do with punishment vs reward, but idk fuck about shit so i could be very wrong.

i don't know that I'd change my media habits based on that alone* but i do feel like media with cold weather in it just hits better when it's cold outside. it seems especially true for games, at least for me *it's a factor, but only one among the millions of other little things that can factor into what happens to provide dopamine at any given time
