I liked The Maxx and Aeon Flux, both shows I probably shouldn't have been watching at my age. ::]:: The animation was presented in segmented half-hour shows. Liquid Television, MTV's Oddities, and Cartoon Sushi.. all similar. Here is the first episode of The Maxx if you want to check it out.

I've heard of it, but never fully watched it. MTV had late night cartoons back in the early to mid-90's that I watched, though. :L
