  1. I mean, yeah. Even shows like Hellsing or Black Lagoon, or movies like Akira didn't get by on Toonami without edits, but they weren't butchered, so even if Disney has an inclination to air Sailor Moon, minor edits are still a thing.
  2. I'm probably not going to watch this unless one of my friends makes me. I'm not really too into live action remakes of anime anyway, even the Japanese ones. I'll stick with the manga, or more likely, the anime.
  3. Bleach for me was also particularly good as a show to have on in the background, if nothing else. I was quite behind on the show by the time of Toonami's revival, so I wasn't watching it, but I liked to leave it on in the background. Feels sort of nostalgic, now that I think about it. On another note, I edited together (rather shittily) and ending for Bleach that has Aizen, Gin and Tosen all getting killed by the King of Hueco Mundo. I got my inspiration for it from the ending of Flame of Recca, where At the very least, if I choose to think of Bleach as ending at the Soul Society, this kind of gives it some closure.
  4. That's kinda my thoughts on the matter, too. It also prevents JoJo from becoming a long runner, though with how the block is expanding recently even that isn't too much of a problem anymore.
  5. I guess JoJo's just not catching on like people wanted it to. Kinda sad, really, since it's a good show. Though this brings up a good question: JoJo only has about a month or so left before it's done. What happens then? Do we go straight into the next season? Or is it switched out? What does everyone think? Personally I think it's gonna be switched out.
  6. I don't particularly hate Bleach, even though I like to think the show ends at Soul Society. The rest of the show has it's moments, too.
  7. Always good to see Jack beating it's lead in, let's hope it keeps it up. One Piece also had better than usual retention this week, possibly due to this being it's final week on the air.
  8. "Busta"-bility 5/10 aka Zeni, you kinda a busta.
  9. One of the reasons why I don't make a bracket. Well that, and because the only time I made a bracket, I had the pleasure of guessing every single one of my first picks wrong.
  10. I think it was better than it had any right to be. Like, after the first few episodes I was expecting the standard harem show, but once the show hit about halfway I was kind of interested in the direction it took. In all honesty the last half of the show seemed a lot like a deconstruction of the harem genre, especially with I've seen that trope played out many times, but I never expected the show to take it the direction it did. I also like how So overall, the show was far from perfect but I enjoyed it, especially the second half of the show.
  11. Yes, it could have been done a lot worse, but they did it rather well. I guess it helps that they actually like the show and are willing to do good work for it.
  12. Are we talking robotic cat girl pissing fetish level of bad here? Because if so, then oh my, this show got quite a bit more interesting.
  13. Conflicted right now. On one hand, the movie and Ao were terrible, so I'm wary of anything Eureka Seven coming out. On the other hand, Dai Sato is back as writer, so that makes it more appealing. I going to have cautious optimism for now.
  14. Nothing to do at all with this thread, but when I read the capitalized part, I can't help but think of "two years worth of semen made a glopping noise." This makes me happy.
  15. I'm starting to get annoyed with all the "One Piece is gone! Toonami is over! Shippuden should have been cut!" bullshit. Perhaps it's because I get annoyed easily, but it seems like that's all the discussion has been about the past week. One Piece wasn't cutting it in ratings, and now it's gone from Toonami. Tokyo Ghoul might not be the best replacement for it, but it's what we got, and at the very least should make for a good hate watch. One Piece is still being streamed online, and it can still be watched. One Piece is leaving Toonami after tonight. Get over it, and move on. Shippuden...well yeah, it isn't very good. And it's gonna get worse But it WAS good at one point, back when Sasuke was still a leaf ninja and Tsunade just became the Hokage. At this point, the only reason I still follow Shippuden is to finish the series. And I honestly think that's why a lot of other people are following it, too.
  16. I've heard Tokyo Ghoul will be good as a hate watch, so unless you consider that good...
  17. I missed the episode on Saturday so I watched the 10:00 rerun tonight. I have to say that I'm impressed. The show definitely has more depth to it now, without becoming incredibly dark or gory. Just the right mix of seriousness and lightheartedness.
  18. I enjoyed Soul Eater, though at that time I was commenting more on Toonami Faithful forums. I didn't join ASMB until the end of 2013.
  19. I think this stands for both SJ and the rest of the block. We won't know until next week whether Samurai Jack can keep this momentum or if a lot of it was just people tuning in for the first week. As for the rest of the block, I think it's a fair assumption that UFC took away viewers who would have otherwise stayed. Once we get numbers for the 11:30 Super it will be easier to determine, but I think that may be the case. Or maybe it was just an off night, or something. Those happen.
