  1. I mean clearly this is due to Adult Swim airing Rick and Morty as opposed to Samurai Jack two weeks ago.
  2. I'm not really a big fan of Videl's design in either GT or Super, IMHO. That being said, I understand that they have to change her design, especially in the case of GT since it's a decade after DBZ. So with that in mind, I prefer her GT design to her Super design. Of course, the best GT design of all was Vegeta. Amiright?
  3. Yeah to be honest Blatch I don't really see how something like this would preclude it from being dubbed. If they think it's gonna make money in America then they'll dub it.
  4. You are NOT going to let go of this, are you?
  5. I've never really been big on manga myself, but I figure that I should start somewhere. Itoshi no Kana Chapters 1 - 12 I'm enjoying this one a lot, actually. If anyone is familiar with it and knows any manga or anime that are similar, please let me know.
  6. So I got a bit busy and wasn't able to keep up with some shows. I'm back now though. Mobile Suit Gundam Episode 6
  7. Well that and Bebop. I remember when Jack got cut from Toonami with only two episodes left, and how offended she was that Toonami wasn't going to take another show off the reduced lineup just to finish it off.
  8. I still need to see it, but there's no reason why I'd think I wouldn't like it.
  9. I wouldn't exactly call Kill la Kill a runner up. I'm pretty sure Toonami was gunning for that almost immediately.
  10. Oh wow, could have sworn Tokyo Ghoul won that. Oh well, at least most people who voted in that had good taste.
  11. I have to agree with the others who are saying IBO 2 is a definite at this point. Toonami seemed to think IBO did fine so I don't see why they wouldn't play the second season. If they do end up keeping this "permanent Gundam slot" after that, I'd like to see some older series circle in. I would say that Tokyo Ghoul beat JoJo due to JoJo having almost no action that night, but Tokyo Ghoul had barely any action too, so I guess people are just turned off by JoJo. Can't wait to see the full ratings when they come out. Samurai Jack kills it like usual. It seems like April Fools didn't have much of an effect on Jack at all. The rest of the night is low. DBZ TFC did decent, so at the very least I have to assume that DBS got over a million, but it looks like it all went to hell after that.
  12. Actually I remember this being talked about. Tokyo Ghoul was definitely the one that won.
  13. You know, that's true now that I think about it. Now I just feel stupid. Need a distraction... ...uhhhhhh HEY LOOK ITS A PICTURE OF MIRA
  14. Given the support that [as] has been giving to Samurai Jack (lots of hype, promos out the ass, weeknight reruns), I could see this as being really plausible.
  15. This would be my thoughts as well. Speaking of which, has DeMarco put out a requested show list recently? I don't really use Twitter, so if he has I wouldn't know.
  16. Well, I guess the streaming rights for this show lasted longer than the television rights.
  17. Are you truly triggered or are you just playing it up at this point?
  18. It wouldn't have mattered if it was planned to be on the night Final Four aired or if they were just going to do it on April 1 regardless. The fact of the matter is that Final Four fell on the same night as April 1. Toonami would have taken a hit that night, and the evidence shows that Adult Swim did in fact take a hit that night. Would you rather Toonami be the one to take a hit? Because that's what would have happened. We were dammed if we do and damned if we don't. Nope, that's wrong. Rick and Morty is popular enough that it will do just fine. The internet is already making a meme out of the Mulan Szechuan Chicken Nugget sauce in the episode, which I doubt they would be doing if nobody watched it. And even barring all that, Adult Swim will obviously air the episode again before the actual season premieres, so it'll be fine.
  19. DeMarco tweeted something a little while ago that he loves JoJo and wants Stardust Crusaders to air on Toonami, so I think it's safe to say JoJo is coming back at some point.
  20. ...You mean like every other show on Toonami that isn't named Attack on Titan, Space Dandy, Samurai Jack or Dragon Ball Super? Toonami did this with Hellsing Ultimate for a Beware the Goddamn Batman marathon. I doubt Toonami hated Hellsing, so it isn't proof Toonami hates Tokyo Ghoul.
  21. Yep JoJo is doubling up next week so they can get to AoT a week sooner. They announced it last week.
  22. I know the Final Four is a big event. 30 million viewers is nothing to be scoffed at, and something like that can (obviously) destroy ratings for a night. I was just pointing out to elfie that the Super Bowl gets far more ratings than even that.
  23. Because the Super Bowl is THE sporting event in the US. And like Masquerade said, lots of people around the globe, even those that don't regularly watch American football, watch the Super Bowl. The Final Four is peanuts compared to that.
  24. We're never going to know how Toonami would have faired if the block played in full on April 1, though I doubt it would have been much better. Final Four was on that night, which definitely took viewers away from Adult Swim. Like Al said over in the ratings thread, the 11 PM Rick and Morty was the most watched show on Adult Swim that night, and that only got 950k or thereabouts, so the night didn't even break a million. Considering that the 950k would have been people tuning in for Samurai Jack, Toonami was going to be looking at a pretty low night regardless of what aired. Better for them to hold off on Jack for a week and air it when more people will actually watch it. But we'll see in the next couple of weeks what hit, if any, the ratings take from this.
